　進献之御太刀馬代留守居之者ゟ受取之中啓ハ懐江
　入右進献物持参
　御江入階階を登り御縁頬ニ而御太刀目録御内陣江備候を
　見受拝礼いたし御幣社人持出其節御敷居之内江

　御幣自分前江持参候節平伏頂戴之按内有之
　御内陣前石之間左之方ニ着座手を突罷在其節
　御土器出神酒頂戴畢而御土器照尊院江相渡初之通

現代語訳

進献の御太刀馬代を留守居の者から受け取り、中啓は懐に入れて右の進献物を持参した。

御宮に入り階を登り、御縁側で御太刀目録を御内陣に備えるのを見受けて拝礼をし、御幣を社人が持ち出した。その節御敷居の内に入り慎んで控えていた。

御幣を自分の前に持参された節、平伏して頂戴の案内があった。御内陣前石の間左の方に着座し手をついて控えており、その節御土器が出て神酒を頂戴し、畢って御土器を照尊院に相渡し、初めの通り御縁側まで退き、奉行並びに御別当に挨拶して退去した。御唐門外で袴の括りを直し退去し下山して、直ちに御本坊に参った。石段の敷石の所で下乗し、照尊院は先に参っていて御玄関の敷台まで出迎えた。その外執当、御留守居、御門主家来なども出迎えて案内があり、少し下に座って挨拶をし、刀は下座で取り上げてもらって上がり、鏡板に登った。右の御杉戸外で括りを解いて控えていると、御杉戸内に奉行が出迎えて挨拶をした。執当、御留守居の案内で［　］の間に通され、大紋を取り長袴に着替えた。その節、先ず両留守居の近習の者を差し遣わした。

一、着替えが畢って照尊院を以って奉行土屋筑後守を呼び出し、着替えの席で江戸表への注進状を相渡し、宿で差し立ててくれるよう申し達した。注進状は昨日両通封じておいた。もっとも両通とも家来が持参し、天気の良い方を差し出し、良くない方は念のため開封した。注進状は左の通りである。

　一筆啓上仕候
　公方様　右大将様益々御機嫌よく御座遊ばされ恐悦に奉り候
　然れば私儀昨十九日日光到着仕り、土屋筑後守に対話を遂げ
　御奉書相渡し申候。今朝
　御霊屋において御法事、御作法の通り天気まで良好に首尾残る
　所なく相済み
　御名代の拝礼相勤め、即刻この表発足仕候。なお帰り
　次第の節申し上ぐべく候。恐惶謹言

右が相済み、執当の案内で溜座敷に通され、刀は御入側床の脇に差し置き、床の間前に図の通り着座した。向座下の方に奉行、御付添の医師が着座して控えていた。その内執当、御留守居が出席したので、御名代として首尾よく相勤めて大慶である旨申し述べ、並びに御座敷向を拝見したい旨相頼んだ。直ちに執当、御留守居、照尊院が

I received the ceremonial sword and horse fee from the caretaker's attendant, put the folding fan in my breast, and brought these offerings.

I entered the main shrine, ascended the stairs, and on the veranda witnessed the ceremonial sword and inventory being placed in the inner sanctuary, then performed worship. The shrine attendant brought out the sacred offerings, and at that time I entered within the threshold and remained respectfully waiting.

When the sacred offerings were brought before me, there was guidance to prostrate and receive them. I sat on the left side of the stone area in front of the inner sanctuary with hands placed respectfully, and at that time sacred sake cups were brought out and I received the sacred sake. After finishing, I handed the sake cup to Shōson-in, withdrew to the veranda as initially, exchanged greetings with the magistrate and head priest, and departed. Outside the Karamon Gate, I adjusted my hakama cords, departed, and descended the mountain, then proceeded directly to the head temple. I dismounted at the stone steps on the paved stone area. Shōson-in had gone ahead and came out to greet me at the entrance platform. In addition, the temple administrator, caretakers, and the temple head's retainers also came out to greet and guide me. I sat down briefly and exchanged greetings. My sword was taken up from the lower seat, and I ascended to the mirror board area. After untying my cords outside the right cedar doors and waiting, the magistrate came out from inside the cedar doors to greet me. Under the guidance of the temple administrator and caretaker, I was shown to the [blank] room, removed my formal court robe, and changed into long hakama. At that time, I first sent attendants of both caretakers.

1. After changing clothes was completed, through Shōson-in I called out Magistrate Tsuchiya Chikugo-no-kami, and in the changing room I handed him the dispatch to Edo, requesting that it be sent from the lodging. The dispatches had been sealed yesterday, both copies. Both copies were brought by retainers, the one with good weather conditions was sent out, and the one without good conditions was opened as a precaution. The dispatch read as follows:

　I humbly write this letter
　The Shogun and Right General are in increasingly good spirits, which brings great joy.
　I arrived at Nikko yesterday on the 19th, met with Tsuchiya Chikugo-no-kami
　and delivered the official letter. This morning at
　the mausoleum, the Buddhist service proceeded according to proper ritual, even the weather was favorable, and everything was completed successfully
　without any shortcomings. I performed the worship as imperial representative and departed from here immediately. I shall report further
　upon my return. With utmost reverence and respect.
