御前が済んで、伊豆守殿が出雲守に会釈があり、御障子の方に付いて
御入側の御敷居際で座ってから内へ摺り入って平伏した。伊豆守殿の名前だけが
披露され、これに対して上意があって御前に進み、
御上段へ摺り上がって平伏し、日光二十日の御名代を仰せ付けられる旨の
上意があった。直ちに御下段へ摺り下がり右に回って、下から二畳目に手をかけ
平伏して御用番の方に顔を向けると御取り合いがあり、右に回って退去した。
それから初めの通り出て脇差を差し、御廊下を通って御錠口から出て、
西湖の間御縁から山吹の間に入る細廊下、鴛鴦の御杉戸向かいの御障子の
後ろで控えていた。羽目の間に伊豆守殿が出席され、戸田備後守の
御進献の御太刀の御渡しおよび拝領物が済んで、御目付渡辺久蔵の
案内があり、山吹の間から羽目の間に出て拝領物のある所に出て
頂戴した。御奏番衆諏訪因幡守殿の取り合いがあって退去し、席に
控えていたところ、大目付伊藤河州が左の書付を伊豆守殿が仰せ聞かせた旨
で渡された。

While waiting in order near the inner sliding doors, after Bingo-no-kami's
audience was completed, Izu-no-kami exchanged courtesies with Izumo-no-kami, and positioning himself near the sliding doors,
he sat at the threshold edge of the inner chamber, then slid forward and prostrated himself. Only Izu-no-kami's name was
announced, the shogun responded to this, and he advanced before His Lordship,
sliding up to the upper platform and prostrating himself. The shogun's command appointing him as representative for Nikkō on the 20th was
given. He immediately slid down from the upper platform, turned right, placed his hands on the second tatami from below,
prostrated himself and turned his face toward the duty officer, whereupon there was an acknowledgment, and he turned right and withdrew.
Then, proceeding as before, he put on his short sword, passed through the corridor and exited from the guard gate,
then waited behind the sliding doors facing the Oshidori (mandarin duck) cedar doors in the narrow corridor from the Seiko room veranda to the Yamabuki room. Izu-no-kami appeared in the Hame room, and after Toda Bingo-no-kami's
presentation of the ceremonial sword and the bestowal of gifts was completed, inspector Watanabe Kyūzō
provided guidance, and I went from the Yamabuki room to the Hame room and came to where the gifts were
and received them. There was an acknowledgment from palace page Suwa Inaba-no-kami, and after withdrawing, while waiting in my seat,
head inspector Itō Kashū handed over the following document, saying that Izu-no-kami had been instructed to convey this.
