但龍光院江者今度 御名代被 仰付
御霊屋自分拝礼伺之通相済難有旨右二付
御名代之節幷自分拝礼之節も心添之義者
相頼今日内見致度旨申達明朝刻限等之義
尋置
一御供之御医師田中俊川入来菓子吸物等出相済而
御機嫌被相伺候間御機嫌宜旨及挨拶被帰候節
次之間迄送
一御門主ゟ為御使御供之執当円覚院留守居浄土院同道
ニ而被参次之間迄出迎致案内書院江通し明日於御本坊
御料理可被下旨御口上承之勝手江入菓子吸物出之相済而
罷出
御門主愈御安泰被成御座乍憚珎重之御儀
奉存候明日御料理可被下間御本坊江参上可仕旨
忝仕合奉存候御請之儀宜被及御沙汰可被下候
右之通申述候上少し上り自分之挨拶且於御本坊
心添之義等相頼置退散之節式台迄送ル
一奉行大久保内膳正入来菓子吸物等出相済而罷出対
話御機嫌被伺候ニ付御機嫌宜段申達於江戸表年寄
衆伝言有之
公方様 大納言様益御機嫌能被成御座候段可申達
由被仰聞候旨申達奉書相渡向方ゟも
御山御安全之旨被申聞御同前恐悦之旨及挨拶畢而
座を少し下り此度廿日 御名代被 仰付難有奉存候
且又 御宮 御霊屋自分拝礼伺之通相済是又
難有旨申之後刻 御宮 御霊屋内見之儀申達
明朝相勤候節勤方等承合万事心添給候様申述
今日本宮其外所々見物致度旨咄置退散之節
次之間迄送ル
但明日 御名代相済候注進状御本坊ニ而封し候
現代語訳
一、御供の御医師田中俊川が入来し、菓子・吸物等を出して済ませて、御機嫌を伺われたので、御機嫌よろしい旨挨拶し、帰られる節は次の間まで送った。
一、御門主からの御使いとして、御供の執当円覚院と留守居浄土院が同道で参られ、次の間まで出迎えして案内し、書院へ通し、明日御本坊において御料理を下さる旨の御口上を承り、勝手（台所）へ入って菓子・吸物を出して済ませて退出した。
「御門主におかれましてはますます御安泰でいらっしゃり、恐縮ながら珍重なることと存じ奉ります。明日御料理を下さるとのことで、御本坊へ参上いたします旨、幸いなことと存じ奉ります。御請けの件、よろしくお取り計らいください」
右の通り申し述べた上で、少し座を上がって自分の挨拶をし、また御本坊での心添え等を依頼して置き、退散の節は式台まで送った。
一、奉行大久保内膳正が入来し、菓子・吸物等を出して済ませて退出し、対話して御機嫌を伺われたので、御機嫌よろしい段を申し達した。江戸表の年寄衆からの伝言があり、
「公方様・大納言様におかれましてはますます御機嫌よくていらっしゃる段を申し達するように」と仰せ聞かされた旨を申し達し、奉書を相渡し、向こうからも
「御山が御安全である旨」を申し聞かされ、同前に恐悦の旨挨拶し終わって、座を少し下がり、「この度二十日に御名代を仰せ付けられ、ありがたく存じ奉ります。
また御宮・御霊屋への自分の拝礼も伺いの通り相済み、これもまたありがたい」旨を申した後、「御宮・御霊屋内見の件」を申し達し、
「明朝相勤める節の勤め方等をお教えください。万事心添えくださるよう」申し述べ、
「今日本宮その外所々を見物したい」旨話して置き、退散の節は次の間まで送った。
ただし明日の御名代が済んだ旨の注進状は御本坊にて対処する。

1. The accompanying physician Tanaka Shunkawa came and was served sweets and soup. When he inquired after my well-being, I responded that I was in good health, and when he departed I escorted him to the next room.
1. As messengers from the gate master, the accompanying executive Engaku-in and the caretaker Jōdo-in came together. I went out to greet them at the next room, guided them to the study, and received word that tomorrow a meal would be provided at the main temple. I went to the kitchen area where sweets and soup were served, and they departed.
"The gate master is increasingly in good health, and though I am presumptuous, I consider this a precious matter. Tomorrow when the meal is provided, I shall visit the main temple, which I consider most fortunate. Please make proper arrangements for acceptance of this invitation."
After stating the above, I moved up slightly in seating to give my own greetings, requested assistance at the main temple, and when they departed I escorted them to the ceremonial entrance.
1. Magistrate Ōkubo Naizen-no-shō came and was served sweets and soup before departing. During our conversation he inquired after my well-being, so I conveyed that I was in good health. There was a message from the elders in Edo:
"Please convey that the Shōgun and Dainagon are increasingly in good spirits," I was told to relay. I delivered an official letter, and from their side as well
I was informed "that the sacred mountain is safe and secure." I responded with equal gratitude and finished my greetings. Then moving down slightly in seating, I said, "This time on the 20th I was appointed as deputy, for which I am most grateful.
Also, my personal worship at the shrine and mausoleum was completed as planned, for which I am also grateful." After this, I discussed "the matter of inspecting the interiors of the shrine and mausoleum" and stated,
"Please teach me the proper procedures for tomorrow morning's duties and provide guidance in all matters."
I mentioned "Today I would like to visit and observe the main shrine and other locations," and when departing I escorted him to the next room.
However, tomorrow's notification letter regarding completion of the deputy duties will be handled at the main temple.
