照尊院を先江参り御玄関江出迎取次両人下座薄縁江
出執當圓覚院御留守居浄土院御門主家司等式臺江
出迎致案内一通り之致挨拶刀ハ提上り着座致し候
御座敷之縁通ㇼ御敷居外ニ差置着座之上執當江
左之趣申述之
於江戸表
公方様 大納言様益御機嫌克被成御座候旨年寄
衆御傳言有之段申述畢而此度
御名代被 仰付 御宮 御霊屋自分之拝礼
伺之通相済難有旨申述先刻到着仕候ニ付
旅宿為御尋以御使者一種拝受之仕且又明日
御料理可被下旨蒙仰忝仕合奉存候
右之通申述之
但茶多葉粉盆於御逢之席只今之内拝見
致度旨相頼両人同道ニ而内見照尊院出致取持候
一御門主御逢可被成旨執当申聞候付刀ハ提御着座之間江
通候御入側江差置 御着座之間江通候御敷居際ニ而扇子
取致中座候得者御会釈有之上之間御敷居内江入
公方様 大納言様益御機嫌克被成御座候段申上之御門主
弥御安泰被成御座乍憚珍重之御儀奉存候旨申上之
御門主昆布御挟帯剣之儘御側江進致拝受元之席江
退執番江向先刻以御使者一種拝受仕其上明日御料理
可被下段蒙仰且参上仕候所御逢被成下忝仕合奉存候旨
申述退去初之御座敷江通り執当留守居江及挨拶直ニ罷帰
出迎之通り何茂送り有之
一於江戸表拝謁之節持参之太刀馬代病気ニ付不差上
候之間爰元江持参宿坊照尊院ゟ掛合之上今日致持参候
一御宮江罷越仁王門外石鳥居坂下ニ而下乗《割書：供廻り｜此所ニ残》是ゟ内ハ
用人留守居駕籠脇計召連仁王門院迄照尊院院代出迎致
案内仁王門唐銅御鳥居左之方御水屋ニ而手水遣ひ陽明
現代語訳
照尊院が先に参り、御玄関へ出迎えに取次両人が下座の薄縁へ
出て、執当円覚院・御留守居浄土院・御門主家司等が式台へ
出迎えして案内し、一通りの挨拶をした。刀は提げ上がって着座し、
御座敷の縁通りの御敷居外に差し置いて着座の上、執当へ
左の趣を申し述べた。
江戸表において
公方様・大納言様におかれましてはますます御機嫌よくていらっしゃる旨、年寄
衆からの御伝言があった段を申し述べ終わって、この度
御名代を仰せ付けられ、御宮・御霊屋への自分の拝礼も
伺いの通り相済み、ありがたい旨を申し述べた。先刻到着したので
旅宿へのお見舞いとして御使者を通じて一種の品を拝受し、また明日
御料理を下される旨を承り、忝い仕合わせと存じ奉る。
右の通り申し述べた。
ただし茶・多葉粉盆について、御対面の席で只今のうちに拝見
したい旨を頼み、両人同道にて内見した。照尊院が出て取り持った。
一、御門主が御対面になる旨を執当が申し聞かせたので、刀は提げて御着座の間へ
通る際に御入側へ差し置き、御着座の間へ通って御敷居際にて扇子を
取って中座したところ、御会釈があって上の間の御敷居内へ入った。
「公方様・大納言様におかれましてはますます御機嫌よくていらっしゃる」段を申し上げ、「御門主様には
ますます御安泰でいらっしゃり、憚りながら珍重なことと存じ奉る」旨を申し上げた。
御門主が昆布を御挟み、帯剣のまま御側へ進んで拝受し、元の席へ
退いて執番に向かい、「先刻御使者を通じて一種の品を拝受し、その上明日御料理を
下される段を承り、また参上したところ御対面を賜り、忝い仕合わせと存じ奉る」旨を
申し述べて退去し、初めの御座敷へ通って執当・留守居へ挨拶して直ちに帰った。
出迎えの通りに皆が送ってくれた。
一、江戸表での拝謁の節に持参する太刀について、馬代が病気のため差し上げなかった
ので、ここへ持参した。宿坊照尊院から掛け合いの上、今日持参した。
一、御宮へ行き、仁王門外の石鳥居坂下にて下乗した《供回りはこの所に残す》。これより内は
用人・留守居・駕籠脇だけを召し連れ、仁王門院まで照尊院の院代が出迎えして
案内した。仁王門・唐銅御鳥居の左の方の御水屋にて手水を使い、陽明

Shōson-in had arrived earlier, and two attendants came out to greet at the main entrance in the lower seating area on thin mats.
The executive Engaku-in, caretaker Jōdo-in, the gate master's house administrator and others came out to greet at the ceremonial platform,
provided guidance, and exchanged customary greetings. I carried my sword up and took my seat.
After placing it outside the threshold along the veranda of the reception room and taking my seat, I stated the following to the executive:
In Edo,
"The Shōgun and Dainagon are increasingly in good spirits," I reported the message from the council of elders, and then stated that this time
I was appointed as deputy, and that my personal worship at the shrine and mausoleum was
completed as planned, for which I am grateful. Since I arrived earlier,
I received a gift through a messenger as an inquiry after my travels, and tomorrow
I was told that a meal will be provided, which I consider a most gracious honor.
I stated the above.
However, regarding the tea and tobacco trays, I requested to view them now during the audience,
and conducted an inspection accompanied by two people. Shōson-in came out to facilitate this.
1. When the executive informed me that the gate master would grant an audience, I carried my sword and when passing to the seating chamber,
I placed it at the side entrance area, and when proceeding to the seating chamber, I took my fan at the threshold and
withdrew to the center. When he acknowledged me, I entered within the threshold of the upper chamber.
I reported "The Shōgun and Dainagon are increasingly in good spirits," and stated "The gate master is
increasingly in good health, which I humbly consider a precious matter."
The gate master offered kelp, and I approached his side with sword still at my waist, received it respectfully, and
withdrew to my original seat. Facing the attendant, I stated "Earlier I received a gift through a messenger, and furthermore tomorrow I was told a meal
will be provided, and moreover when I came to pay my respects you granted me an audience, which I consider a most gracious honor."
After stating this, I withdrew and returned to the original reception room, exchanged greetings with the executive and caretaker, and departed immediately.
Everyone saw me off as they had greeted me upon arrival.
1. Regarding the ceremonial sword to be brought during audience in Edo, since the horse deputy was ill it was not presented
at that time, so I brought it here. After consultation with the temple lodging Shōson-in, I brought it today.
1. Going to the shrine, I dismounted at the stone torii slope below the Niō gate {{retainers remained at this location}}. From here inward,
I took only the chamberlain, caretaker, and palanquin attendant, and the deputy of Shōson-in came out to greet at the Niō gate and
