一、右の御書付を留守居へ中之口にて相渡し、同人が先へ持ち帰った。
一、菊之間縁側辺りに横瀬駿河殿、前田信濃守殿がいらっしゃったので、自分から吹聴申し上げた。同人からも十七日に御名代に仰せ付けられた旨の吹聴があった。また御座之間にて御暇の節の習礼の儀について、急ぎではないが頼んだところ、快く申し合わせて稽古をしてくれる旨の挨拶があった。
但し、高家衆中條河内守殿にも出合ったので同様に頼んでおいた。
一、程なく御白書院へ罷り越し、自分も隠岐も同様に罷り越して御咄、暇の節と帰りの節との稽古をしておいた。直ちに隠岐と同道で退出した。
一、西丸へも御礼のため登城し、雁之間にて御奏者番当番の森川紀伊守殿に謁見した。自分と隠岐が一同で罷り出て済ませ退出し、御礼のため両丸の老中衆、若年寄衆を廻り勤めて八時に帰宅した。
一、阿部備中守殿から八時半前に留守居の者が呼び出されて達書があった。左の通り：

一、右につき即刻御礼のため阿部備中守殿へ罷り越した。
一、今日日光御名代仰せ付けられ候につき、同席中へ知らせた。例の如し。

一、今日殿中において備中守殿が渡された御書付の写し一通を隠岐守へ差し遣わした。
同四日
一、御用番阿部備中守殿へ留守居の者を差し出し、対客に罷り出るよう申し込んだところ、承知の旨の挨拶があった。
同五日
一、服紗袷半袴を着用し、七時半過ぎ一寸に出宅、御用番阿部備中守殿へ罷り越した。
一、用人が呼び出し、日光廿日御名代仰せ付けられ候につき御礼のため罷り出た旨を申し述べた。程なく備中殿が対客之間へ出座し、用人が杉戸を明け、自分が罷り出て対客之敷居際にて姓名を申し述べて罷り出た。今度日光廿日御名代仰せ付けられ有難い旨を申し上げた。右につき伺書を差し出した上、包み取り二通を一所に差し出した。備中殿が披見され、ちょっと会釈があって直ちに退いた。

One, Since Yokose Suruga-dono and Maeda Shinano-no-kami-dono were present near the veranda of the Kiku-no-ma (Chrysanthemum Room), I announced the news to them myself. They also announced that the deputy representative appointment had been ordered on the 17th day. Also, regarding the etiquette practice for the farewell ceremony in the Goza-no-ma, I asked for their help though it was not urgent, and they graciously agreed to arrange practice sessions.
However, I also met with Nakajo Kawachi-no-kami-dono of the high-ranking retainers and made the same request.
One, Soon after, I proceeded to the Gohakushoin, and both myself and Oki proceeded there as well to practice for conversations, farewell ceremonies, and return ceremonies. We immediately withdrew together with Oki.
One, I also went to Nishimaru to express gratitude, and had an audience with Morikawa Kii-no-kami-dono, who was on duty as master of ceremonies in the Kari-no-ma. Both myself and Oki appeared together, completed the ceremony, withdrew, and made rounds to the senior councilors and junior councilors of both compounds as a courtesy, returning home at 8 o'clock.
One, Before 8:30, Abe Bitchu-no-kami-dono summoned the caretaker and issued the following notification:

Having been appointed deputy representative,
is excused from
Outer Sakurada gate guard duty
One, Regarding the above, I immediately went to Abe Bitchu-no-kami-dono to express gratitude.
One, Since I was appointed Nikko deputy representative today, I notified my colleagues as usual.
One, Since I was excused from guard duty, the same.
One, Today I sent a copy of the written order that Bitchu-no-kami-dono handed over in the palace to Oki-no-kami.

One, I sent the caretaker to Abe Bitchu-no-kami-dono, who was on duty, requesting an audience, and received confirmation that it was understood.
Same, 5th day
One, Wearing fukusa awase half-hakama, I left home a little after 7:30 and went to see Abe Bitchu-no-kami-dono, who was on duty.
One, The steward called me and I stated that I had come to express gratitude for being appointed Nikko deputy representative on the 20th day. Soon Bitchu-dono entered the audience chamber, the steward opened the sliding doors, I entered and announced my name at the threshold of the audience area. I expressed gratitude for being appointed Nikko deputy representative on the 20th day. Regarding this, I submitted an inquiry document along with two wrapped documents together. Bitchu-dono reviewed them, gave a brief acknowledgment, and I immediately withdrew.
