東の方の横畳二畳目へ出席し、大目付衆にも同様に来ていただき、当番の次へ着座した。自分は様子を見計らって中の間から羽目の間の御敷居前の屏風の方へ寄って控えていた。それから表御右筆組頭が奉書を小広蓋に載せて持ち出し、紀伊守殿の前に差し置いて退いた。御目付との会釈で、自分は紀伊守殿の前へ横畳二畳分進み出て着座し、奉書をお渡しするので御同人の前へ出向いて受け取り、元の席へ復座して奉書を脇に置いた。日光奉行への御伝言を例の通り心得申すべきかと伺ったところ、例の通りとの御挨拶があったので、直接桔梗の間を通って退出した。懸かりの中廊下の外に留守居が控えていたので、奉書を渡し、勝手に退去するよう伝えて部屋へ引いた。
ただしこの時は御門主が御在山ではないため、執当への御伝言は伺わなかった。
一、助番の越前殿・播磨殿・右京・伊豆・摂津守・長門殿がそれぞれ暇乞いを申し聞かせたので、こちらからも相応に挨拶を行った。
一、播磨殿・伊豆が同道で退出した。それから御用番の紀伊守殿のところへ出向き、昨日出立の御届けを玄関で申し置いて立ち帰り、暇乞いの口上を申し置いた。その他非番の老中衆へ暇乞いのため出向き、口上書を持参して玄関で申し置いた。
帰宅は八時過ぎであった。

I took my seat on the second tatami mat on the eastern side, and the ōmetsuke (senior inspectors) similarly came and sat next to the duty officer. Observing the situation, I moved from the middle chamber to near the folding screen in front of the threshold of Hame-no-ma. Then the head of the surface scribes brought out the official document on a small hirobuta (ceremonial tray), placed it in front of Kii-no-kami-dono, and withdrew. After exchanging courtesies with the inspector, I advanced two tatami mats in front of Kii-no-kami-dono and took my seat. When the official document was presented, I went before him to receive it, returned to my original seat, and placed the document at my side. When I inquired whether I should understand the message to the Nikkō magistrate as usual, he replied "as usual," so I withdrew directly through Kikyō-no-ma. A caretaker was waiting outside the connecting middle corridor, so I handed over the document and instructed him to withdraw at his convenience, then retired to my quarters.
However, at this time the gate master was not present at the mountain, so I did not inquire about the message to the executor.

Then I went to the duty officer Kii-no-kami-dono, left notification of yesterday's departure at the entrance, returned briefly to make farewell remarks, and visited the off-duty senior councilors to bid farewell, bringing written statements and leaving them at their entrances.
I returned home after eight o'clock.
