御霊屋へ被参候後案内有之玄関より外通り罷越し用人
留守居刀番二人計ニ而夜刃門外ニ而刀は刀番へ渡置同門内ゟ
薄縁敷有之右之処二而括りを解キ右之方二手水有之二付
手水を遣ひ夫ゟ宿坊法門院按内ニ而
御霊屋へ入御唐門左右御目代両人其外衆徒着座

御霊屋へ詰められている旨を申し聞かされた。御門主御名代修学院が
御霊屋へ参られた後、案内があり、玄関より外回りを通って向かった。用人・
留守居・刀番二人だけで夜刃門外にて刀は刀番へ渡し置き、同門内より
薄縁が敷いてあり、その場所にて括りを解き、その方に手水があったので
手水を使い、それから宿坊法門院の案内にて
御霊屋へ入った。御唐門の左右に御目代両人その外衆徒が着座した。
会釈に及ばず階を昇った。この時音楽が始まった。戸の内
御正面にて中礼をし、右の方畳の上に着座してしばらくあって
御経が始まった。御作法の通り済んだ。この時音楽が始まり、御門主御名代
修学院が 御内陣へ入り焼香を終えて、龍光院が会釈をした。
その会釈にて立ち 御内陣へ入った《中啓を前に｜差し置いて》膝突きに少し手をかけ
御焼香をした《御香合にあった｜沈木を用いて》

We were informed that [officials] were stationed at the mausoleum. After the gate master's representative Shūgaku-in arrived at the mausoleum, we were guided and proceeded via the outer route from the entrance. With only the steward, caretaker, and two sword bearers, we left our swords with the sword bearers outside Yaiba Gate, and from inside the same gate there were thin mats laid out. At that location we untied our bundles, and since there was a water basin in that direction, we used the water for purification. Then, guided by the lodging temple Hōmon-in, we entered the mausoleum. On the left and right of the Imperial Chinese Gate, the two deputy representatives and other monk-soldiers took their seats. Without need for formal greetings, we ascended the stairs. At this time, music began. Inside the doors, we performed a medium bow before the main altar, took our seats on the tatami mats to the right, and after a short while the sutra chanting began. This proceeded according to proper ritual form. At this time music began, and the gate master's representative Shūgaku-in entered the inner sanctuary, completed the incense offering, and Ryūkō-in made a bow. With that bow we stood and entered the inner sanctuary (placing our folding fans in front), lightly placed our hands on the kneeling cushion, and performed the incense offering (using aloes wood from the incense container).
