現代語訳
古巴梯斯は、樹の高さが二、三丈余りで、葉の大きさは柿の葉のようである。花は五弁で、八、九月に実が青い果実のようになるが、やや平たい。福建にもあり、戊土と名付けている。
古巴梯斯《別名戊土、和名は詳らかでない。按ずるに、おそらく即ちこれは麂目であろう。蛮名はカタツテスである》
右納は樹の高さが三、四丈余りで、葉は白桐に似ている。夏季に花を開き、中国の秋葵のようで、黄色の花弁で赤い心を持つ。

地分木は、高さ五、六丈で、葉は穀葉に似て小さく、白花が叢生する。冬月に開く。毒があり、魚を毒殺するのに用いることができる。

Kobateisu is a tree with a height of two to three jō and more, with leaves the size of persimmon leaves. The flowers have five petals, and in the eighth and ninth months, the fruit resembles green fruit but is somewhat flattened. It also exists in Fujian, where it is called bodo.

Unō is a tree with a height of three to four jō and more, with leaves resembling those of the white paulownia. In summer it blooms with flowers like Chinese mallow from China, with yellow petals and a red center.

Jibun-boku has a height of five to six jō, with leaves resembling but smaller than grain leaves, and white flowers growing in clusters. It blooms in winter months. It is poisonous and can be used to poison fish.
