現代語訳
地分木《大島では上名文木と呼ぶ。和名は詳らかでない。おそらく栗香の一種であろう》
月橘樹は、高さ一丈余りで、細い葉は棗のようである。五、六月に小さな白い花を開き、非常に芳香が強い。十里香と名付けられている。実を結び、天竺子のようであるがやや大きく、二月中に赤くなり、累々として樹に満ちる。

梯姑樹は、高さ七、八丈で、大きなものは数囲に合する。葉の大きさは柿のようで、各葉は品字形を作って抽出し、節に対して生える。四月に初めて花を咲かせ、朱紅色で、長さ一尺二、三寸である。各幹から直接数十の花房を抽出し攢める。花葉は紫木筆が□を吐くようである。高麗種は大平山に産出する。

The Gettō tree has a height of one jō and more, with thin leaves like those of jujube. In the fifth and sixth months it produces small white flowers with an extremely strong fragrance. It is called jūri-kō (ten-ri fragrance). It bears fruit resembling tendai-shi but somewhat larger, turning red in the second month, hanging in clusters filling the tree.
Gettō tree 《Also called jūri-kō. In Satsuma dialect it is called tsu□-no-ki》
The Teiko tree has a height of seven to eight jō, with large specimens reaching several arm-spans in circumference. The leaves are the size of persimmon leaves, with each leaf extending in a triangular formation and growing opposite at the nodes. It first flowers in the fourth month with vermillion-red flowers one shaku two to three sun in length. Each trunk directly produces clusters of dozens of flower bunches. The flower petals are like purple brushes spitting out □. The Korean variety grows on Mount Taihei.
