現代語訳
藕蔗《薩州種子島の方言でムラサキキビ。考察するに荻蔗に似ているが茎が肥大し、状が藕に似ているため、藕蔗と名付けられた。荻蔗と同類の別種である》
茘枝《肥州長崎の方言でリチイ》
野牡丹、土名は苻花、葉は牡丹と異ならない。二三月に花が開き、房状になって累々と鈴鐸のような形をなす。白い花弁に紫の暈があり、花心は碗ほどの大きさで、極めて芳香が烈しい。その葉を噛むと口香剤のような働きをする。種は太平山に産する。また野海棠、仙人竿、箒桃、野蘭がある。《即ち中国の青蘘である。今考察するに胡麻葉も青蘘と名付けるがこれとは異なる》
野牡丹《別名は苻花、大島名はツムハカア、また保乃火とも名付ける。最も珍奇なものである》
