現代語訳
櫧子は、一名を芝子という。橡栗のようだが、それより小さい。山中の各所にこれがある。一名を椎子という。《図は前に見える》
竹には若竹・猫竹・虎斑竹・鳳竹・竿竹・箒竹・烏竹・大竿竹・矢竹・□竹がある。
異産には観音竹がある。
苦竹《和名はナヨタケ、メダケ》
猫竹《和名はコダケ。按ずるに苗竹は節々に小刺があり、性質がやや方竹に近い》

Shiiko (acorns of Castanopsis): Also called Shibashi. They resemble kunugi acorns but are smaller. They are found throughout the mountains. Also called Shiiko. (Illustration appears earlier)
