虫には鼠蝙蝠・蝎虎がいて、雀のような声を出すことができ、冬も皆そうである。
蜥蜴は水池の中に生息し、腹が赤く背に金色の光がある。また四脚の小青蛇もいて、常に見かける。国中の蛇で最も毒があり、九月中に毎回出現して人を傷つけ、人は立ったまま死んでしまう。《前の使録には、その蛇は人を傷つけないと言うが、確証がない》蚊や蝿は皆冬に発生する。
蟻は中国と同じだが、ただ腹が水晶のように透明で、これを殺すと水滴がある。

Among insects, there are mouse-bats and gecko lizards that can make sounds like sparrows, and this is true in winter as well.
Lizards live in water ponds, have red bellies and golden light on their backs. There are also small blue snakes with four legs that are commonly seen. The most venomous snakes in the country appear every September and harm people, causing them to die standing up. (The previous envoy's record says that these snakes do not harm people, but this is unconfirmed.) Mosquitoes and flies all emerge in winter.
Ants are the same as those in China, but their abdomens are transparent like crystal, and when killed, they contain water droplets.
