現代語訳
鱗族には、鮫・鯉・鮒・鰻・鰍・蝦・金魚・銀縷魚がある。異産には毛魚・針魚・燕魚等がある。その緑色・紅色・緑鱗・紅章が五彩相間じり、あるいは円、あるいは長いものは数え切れない。土人はその色・その状によって呼んでいるが、皆名前がない。海魚を生のまま切って片にし、夜中暗い所で見ると、皆明るく透けて緑の火光があり、色は熱河の夜光木のようである。
銀縷魚《和名：シラウヲ 按ずるに潜確類書に載る麫條魚がこれである》
毛魚は、細小で外から見ると腐ったもののようであるが、咀嚼すると味がある。閩人は皆これを重んじ、珍品とする。七月朔の前後五日、八月朔前後五日に、海中に並んで出現する。他の月はそうではない。《図は前に見える》
針魚は頭に針の形を戴いており、また鱵とも名付ける。

Among the exotic species, there are hair fish, needlefish, flying fish, etc. Their green, red, green scales, and red patterns intermingle in five colors, some round, some long - too numerous to count. The hair fish is small and fine, appearing rotten when viewed from the outside, but has flavor when chewed. The Fujian people all value it and consider it a delicacy. It appears in formation in the sea for five days before and after the first day of the seventh month, and five days before and after the first day of the eighth month.
