桅螺は、殻が尖って出ていることが桅のようで、刺がその全体に満ちている。桅魚という。

貝には数種がある。一種は外が白色で内が朱砂色、一種は玳瑁の斑模様で内が紫白色である。

龍頭蝦は、鰝と名付けられる。大きいものは一、二尺で、形が龍に非常によく似ている。時に食事に供される。蛤蜊の類は数え切れないほど多い。
