【右丁】
故に我邦人の深入 接（セツ）戦には、この剣首銃は忽切て両
断（ダン）となすべきものなるべし、然らばその深入接戦に
は、兜鎧こそ必用の具なることはいふまでもあらねど、
此気の張出したるものには、また他を圧倒（オシタヲス）べき不可思
議の力（ハタラキ）を生ずるを以て、矢鉋をも避（サケ）て、それが為に身
を害（ソコナウ）ことはなきものなり、《割書：此事は後にいふべし、この力あるを｜観得（クワントク）したるより、予は私に之を衛気（エイキ）》
《割書：と名づけ｜たり、》さるをもしこの気の虚隙（スキマ）ありて、敵の弾丸（タマ）を
受（ウク）ることあらば、頭面胸腹の急処は、いふまでもあらねど、

したがって我が国の人が深く進入して接近戦を行う場合には、この剣付き銃は たちまち切って両断にすることができるものであろう。そうであればその深入接戦には、兜や鎧こそ必要な道具であることは言うまでもないが、この気が張り出したものには、また他を圧倒する不思議な力を生じるので、矢や砲弾をも避けて、そのために身を害することはないものである。《この事は後に述べるべきである。この力があることを理解してから、私は個人的にこれを「衛気」と名付けた》しかしもしこの気に隙間があって、敵の弾丸を受けることがあれば、頭・顔・胸・腹の急所は言うまでもないが、鳥銃の威力が弱くて肘・上腕・太腿・脛などの骨で弾丸が止まったものは、後に図を出した、螺旋ドリル、双鉤かき出し器、鵞嘴鑷子
