傷、霍乱、痢病、および胸腹痛、疝気、積聚ともに用ふべ
きものなれば、これを用意したるがよし、
凍死たるを救ふ心得の事
凍（コヾヘ）死たるものは、その身体（カラダ）に新汲水【左ルビ：クミタテノミヅ】を夥（オビタヾシ）く潅（ソヽギ）かけ
て、関節（クワンセツ）【左ルビ：フシブシ】を運転（ウンテン）【左ルビ：グル〳〵マワシ】し、総【惣】身を按摩（アンマ）して後、雪の中へ埋（ウヅ）め、
たゞ頭面ばかりを見はし、口を開きて息をつよく吹入る
時には、蘇（ソ）生するものあり、この息を吹入るゝには、壮実【左ルビ：タツシヤナル】
の者をしてかはる〴〵吹入さすべし、かくして息出たらば、
直に雪の中よりとり出し、醋を多く温めて、頭面と総【惣】
身へしたゝかに吹かけて、再（フタヽビ）身体を摩擦（マサツ）し後（ノチ）、衣 被（ヒ）を

厚くし、枕を高くして右を下にして、横に臥（ネカス）べし、敷（シキ）も
のには、よく打たる藁薦（ワラゴモ）を重（カサ）ね、その上へ臥しめ、風
の透（トホ）らぬやうにしたるがよし、と凍死の一日夜を歴（ヘ）たる
ものが蘇（ソ）生したるためしもあれば、死たりとのみい
ふて、うち棄（ステ）おくべからず、また地を深く堀て、その中
へ入おきて活るよしをもいへり、いづれにも心を尽（ツク）し
愛憐（アイレン）【左ルビ：カハユガリアハレム】の情【左ルビ：ナサケ】をいたすが、人を使ふものゝ用心なれば、この
事をよくおもふべし、《割書：この愛憐の情は、外寇防禦の最上第一｜なることにて、大熕兵刃にも優（マサ）れる必勝》

傷、霍乱、下痢、および胸腹部の痛み、疝気、積聚ともに用いることができる
ものであるから、これを用意するのがよい。
凍死した者を救う心得の事
凍死した者は、その身体に汲みたての水を大量に注ぎかけ
て、関節を回転させ、全身をマッサージした後、雪の中に埋め、
ただ頭と顔だけを見えるようにし、口を開いて息を強く吹き込む
時には、蘇生する者がある。この息を吹き込むには、体力のある
者が交代で吹き込ませるべきである。このようにして息が出たならば、
直ちに雪の中から取り出し、酢を多く温めて、頭面と全
身にたっぷりと吹きかけて、再び身体をマッサージした後、衣服を

厚くし、枕を高くして右を下にして、横に寝かせるべきである。敷き
物には、よく打った藁むしろを重ね、その上に寝かせ、風
が通らないようにするのがよい。凍死してから一昼夜を経た
者が蘇生した例もあるので、死んだとばかり言って、
打ち捨てておいてはならない。また地面を深く掘って、その中
に入れておいて生き返ったということも言われている。いずれにしても心を尽くし
愛憐の情を示すのが、人を使う者の心得であるから、この
ことをよく思うべきである。《割注：この愛憐の情は、外敵防御の最上第一
のことであって、大砲や刀剣にも勝る必勝
の手段であることを
よく思うべきである。》

people should take turns blowing air in. When breath emerges in this way,

layer well-beaten straw mats and have them lie on top, ensuring wind
cannot pass through. Since there are cases of those who have been frozen dead for a full day and night
reviving, one must not simply declare them dead
and abandon them. It is also said that digging deep into the ground and placing them within
can bring them back to life. In any case, devoting one's heart and showing
compassionate affection is the duty of those who command others, so one should

matter in defending against foreign enemies, and is a sure method of victory
that surpasses even cannons and bladed weapons—
