陣取べき地を択（ヱラ）び用ふべき水を撿（ギンミ）し総て陣屋
を構る心得のこと
砦を築（キヅキ）陣屋を営（イトナマ）んとおもふには、高（タカク）燥（カワキ）清浄（シヤウ〴〵）にして、進（スヽムモ）
退（シリゾクモ）自在（ジザイ）なる地（トコロ）を択（ヱラビ）、卑（ヒキク）湿（シメリ）隆窊（タカビク）ある、漸淤（ミヅダマリ）糞壌（ゴモクバ）などの地
は、一切用べからず、僅（ワヅカ）に地を穿（ホリ）て、水の出る地は、湿気（シツケ）
多くして、人に中（アタリ）易（ヤス）し、されどその湧出（ワキイヅ）る水（・）の清（スムト）濁（ニゴル）に
よりて、地の美（ヨシ）悪（アシ）は預（アラカジメ）察（サツ）し知らるべければ、これを撿（タヾ）
覈（ス）には、其 区別（シヤベツ）をよく留意（コヽロエ）て稽核（ギンミス）べし、且（カツ）陣屋にせん
とおもふ、近きところの村里の井、または港沢水（ノサバノミツ）、及 山（フモ）

陣を取るべき地を選び、用いるべき水を検査し、すべて陣屋
を構える心得のこと
砦を築き陣屋を営もうと思うには、高く乾燥し清潔で、進撃も
退却も自由自在にできる地を選び、低く湿った高低のある土地、水たまりや糞尿で汚れた場所
などの地は、一切用いてはならない。わずかに地を掘って、水の出る地は、湿気が
多くて、人に害を与えやすい。しかしその湧き出る水の清濁によって、
土地の良し悪しは予め察知することができるので、これを検査
するには、その区別をよく心得て検討すべきである。また陣屋にしようと
思う、近くの村里の井戸、または野沢の水、および麓

Low, damp terrain with uneven elevations, stagnant water pools, or ground contaminated with excrement should never be used. Land where water emerges after digging only slightly has excessive moisture and easily harms people. However, the quality of the land can be determined in advance by observing whether the spring water that emerges is clear or turbid. When examining this, one should carefully consider these distinctions and investigate thoroughly.
