やゝ回復（クワイフク）するとみえても、呼吸（イキ）の往来（カヨヒ）微（カスカ）なるうちには、
かならず内服剤（ナイフクザイ）を用べからず、息（イキ）出て舌のやゝ動（ウゴク）を診（ミ）て
後に、四逆（シギヤク）湯を用るがよし、それも一 次（ド）に多く与（アタヘ）んより
頻々（タビ〴〵）に些少（スコシ）つゝ服（ノマ）するがよし、今 此（コヽ）に述（ノベ）たる療法を、前
篇に盤点（ヒキアハセ）て、これを行ところの旨（ムネ）を預（アラカジメ）了解（ガテンス）べし《割書：北越（ヱチゴ）の｜地など》

く植（ウヱ）て、寒風の往来（カヨヒ）を遮（サユ）べし、北地には、造化（ムスブノカミ）の妙巧（タクミ）にて、
質（ウマレツキ）軟（ヤハラカク）脆（モロク）して、よく火に堪（タユ）る石は必生ずるものなり、既（スデ）
に下毛（シモツケ）の鹿沼（カヌマ）宇都宮（ウツノミヤ）などにすら、多くありて、此石を以
て壁（カベ）に代（カヘ）て庫（クラ）を築（ツキ）家を造（ツクリ）、または瓦（カハラ）の代（カハリ）にも用る也、蝦（エ）
夷（ゾ）の地は、必これを生する処（トコロ）多くあるべし、もし之を
得（エ）ば、此石を以て床下（ユカシタ）を築立（ツキタテ）、その上へ材木を以て屋（イヘ）を

口と鼻のみを出させて臥せるべきである。《割書：初めに氷の下の冷水をかけ、それから少し暖かみのある水を注ぐのは、徐々に温めるためなので、掘り抜き井戸などのない場所ならば、冷水へ少しばかり湯を加えて用いるべきである》このようにしてもなお手足の先から肩、背中に至るまでを、逆方向に摩擦した後に、くしゃみ薬を鼻へ吹き込むべきである。《割書：くしゃみ薬のことは前篇に述べた。皂莢、細辛の類もくしゃみ薬に用いる。胡椒の粉末一味を用いるのもよい。白芥子の粉末もまたよい》
やや回復すると見えても、呼吸が微弱な間は、必ず内服薬を用いてはならない。息が出て舌がやや動くのを診た後に、四逆湯を用いるのがよい。それも一度に多く与えるより、頻繁に少しずつ服用させるのがよい。今ここに述べた療法を、前篇と照らし合わせて、これを行う要旨をあらかじめ理解すべきである。《割書：越後の地などで、雪吹きに遭って死ぬ者は必ず酒を飲み、その酒気に任せて行こうとする者にあるという。これは寒気が激しいため、毛穴が閉塞して、酒気が発散せず》

Even when recovery seems apparent, internal medicines must never be used while breathing remains faint. Only after observing that breath emerges and the tongue moves slightly should Sini decoction be used. Rather than giving large amounts at once, it is better to administer small amounts frequently. When traveling to Ezo regions, such incidents will likely be frequent, so they should be treated with the therapeutic methods described here》 There is something that should be mentioned in passing. To survive winter in cold regions like Ezo, one should first select suitable ground for settlement, keeping the south open, building embankments from east to northwest, planting many trees that will flourish densely to block the passage of cold winds. In northern regions, through nature's ingenious design, stones that are soft and brittle in quality yet can withstand fire will naturally occur. Already in places like Kanuma and Utsunomiya in Shimotsuke, there are many such stones, which are used instead of walls to build storehouses and houses, or even as roof tiles. Ezo lands must have many places that produce these stones. If obtained, these stones should be used to build up the area under the floor, and timber used to construct houses on top
