元席被
仰付候得は已前に復候
趣に候已当時若年
寄衆大御番頭等て御役

現代語訳
退役後（か）、嫡子の家督等の節に、元の席を仰せ付けられれば以前に復するという趣である。現在、若年寄衆・大御番頭等で御役を復職された際に改めたという例もあるが、古格が残っていることである。
退参した諸家の供連れは、追々華美になり、武家の軍実を取り失っているところにある。結局のところ、同列を始め、御役人の供立て等を見習って差し支えないことのように心得ているためである。【以上前ページ重複】
そのような意味もあるのではないかと思われる。このため仰せ出された御趣意もあるので、以後（か）古格の通り、御譜代・外様より仰せ付けられた衆は、御勝手の面々の供連れ・行装に改めるのがよいのではないか。そうであれば、万石以上の諸御役人ども、その旨をそれぞれ心得る方がよいであろうということである。

After retirement (or perhaps), when their sons succeed to the family headship, if they are reappointed to their former positions, they return to their previous arrangements. At present, there are cases where wakadoshiyori (junior councilors) and ōgobanngashira (captains of the great guard) have made such modifications upon being restored to office, but the old customs remain.
The retinue processions of retired families have gradually become more luxurious, losing the military substance of warrior houses. There may be such meaning behind this as well. For this reason, there is the lord's intention that has been announced, so hereafter (perhaps) according to the old customs, those appointed from among the gofudai and tozama should modify their retinues and procession equipment to match those of the gokatte officials. If so, all officials of ten thousand koku and above should each understand this matter accordingly.
