なり夕やけ火焔（くわえん）のごときは
大日でりなり
○夕やけはやく変（へん）じて紫（むらさき）と
なり黒（くろ）くなるは雨ふるしるし也
或（あるひ）は風ふく事もあり後（のち）まで
同じ色（いろ）にてやう〳〵うすくなる
は晴天（せいてん）になると知るべし
○毎月（まいげつ）季節（きせつ）のかはる日 早朝（さうてう）
東（ひがし）の方あかきは其（その）節（せつ）の内 風（ふう）
雨（う）順（じゆん）なり
○朝東の方あかきは晴 茶（ちや）色
なるは雨也
○虹（にじ）の下雨ふるは晴るなり
○霧（きり）はれがたきは雨となる但（たゞ）し
山谷（さんこく）の霧（きり）は朝（あさ）久（ひさ）しくはれねば

○雲（くも）北斗（ほくと）をおほふは大雨 黒雲（くろくも）
さへぎりて北斗見えざるは三日
のうちに雨黒雲あつく北斗

白気（はくき）北斗をおほふは三日の
内に雨 青（せい）気北斗をおほふは
五日のうちに雨ふる
○天に雲なくして北斗の上下
に雲あるは五日の中に大雨有
日入て後 白光（はくくわう）ありて地中（ちちう）
より北斗につきのぼり其間
の星（ほし）にひかりなきは其夜 必（かなら）ず
大風ふく北斗の魁星（くわいせい）【左に「サキノホシ」と傍記】の間
黒気（こくき）うるほひ有て其ほとり

　○寸白（すんはく）の薬
一 疝気（せんき）陰嚢（いんのう）【左に「キンタマ」と傍記】へさし込（こみ）大くなりたるは諸薬（しよやく）験（しるし）
なきものなり辛（からし）菜を酢（す）にてとき陰嚢にぬる
べし二時（ふたとき）ばかりつよくしむをたへ忍（しの）ぶべし
一代（いちだい）根（ね）をきるなり《割書：しむをこらへたるは少しも｜害（がい）にはならぬなり》
　○疝気（せんき）の薬
一 接骨木（にはとこ）【左に「カンボク」と傍記】　一 甘草（かんざう）《割書：少｜》
右二味つねのごとく煎（せん）じ用れば何ほどつよき
疝気にてもいたみ早速（さつそく）なほるなり又方
一 ゆづり葉（は）《割書：十匁｜》　一 さはら木《割書：五匁｜》　一 木香（もくかう）《割書：五匁｜》
一 檳榔子（びんらうじ）《割書：五匁｜》　一 甘草《割書：二匁｜》
右五味 常（つね）のごとくせんじ服（ふく）してよし効能（かうのう）は疝
気 腹（はら）のいたみ虫症（むししやう）に用ゐて甚（はなはだ）よし又

白湯（さゆ）にてふり出しあとを常（つね）のごとくせんじ

一 胡椒（こしやう）《割書：一両半｜》　一 塩（しほ）《割書：一合五勺｜》　此二味をぬる湯
にしてたらひに入れ腰（こし）湯してよし但（たゞ）しゆかた
にてもたらひの上へかぶせ陰嚢（いんのう）【左に「キンタマ」と傍記】陰茎（いんきよう）【左に「ヘノコ」と傍記】ともよく
木綿（もめん）にても絹（きぬ）にても包（つゝ）みおきて腰（こし）を湯にて
あたゝめてよしゆかたは胡桝（こしやう）にむせぬ為（ため）なり
　○疝気（せんき）の呪法（まじなひ）
一 七月十五日の朝 天井水（てんせゐすい）《割書：未（いまだ）人のくまざる｜さきの水を云》をくみて
温飩（うどん）の粉（こ）むくろうじほどに丸じて呑べし
　○臁瘡（はゞきがさ）の薬
一 山梔子（くちなし）を水にて摺（すり）臁瘡をよくあらひて付べし

現代語訳

【右丁頭書】
である。夕焼けが火炎のようであるのは大日照りである。
○夕焼けが早く変じて紫となり黒くなるのは雨が降る印である。
あるいは風が吹くこともある。後まで同じ色でようやく薄くなるのは晴天になると知るべし。
○毎月季節の変わる日の早朝、東の方が赤いのはその季節の内、風雨が順調である。
○朝東の方が赤いのは晴れ。茶色なのは雨である。
○虹の下で雨が降るのは晴れるのである。
○霧が晴れにくいのは雨となる。ただし山谷の霧は朝久しく晴れなければ天気が良い。
○霧の内は風がない。霧が晴れる時

風が吹く。
○雲が北斗七星を覆うのは大雨。黒雲が遮って北斗七星が見えないのは三日のうちに雨。黒雲が厚く北斗七星を覆うのはその夜雨。黄色い雲が北斗七星を覆うのは明日雨が降る。白い気が北斗七星を覆うのは三日の内に雨。青い気が北斗七星を覆うのは五日のうちに雨が降る。
○天に雲がなくて北斗七星の上下に雲があるのは五日の中に大雨がある。日が入った後、白い光があって地中より北斗七星に向かって昇り、その間の星に光がないのはその夜必ず大風が吹く。北斗七星の魁星の間に黒い気が潤いを持ってその辺りに雲があればその夜雨が降る。

【右丁本文】
　○寸白虫の薬
疝気で陰嚢が腫れて大きくなったものは諸薬で効果のないものである。辛子菜を酢で溶いて陰嚢に塗るべし。二時ほど強くしみるのを耐え忍ぶべし。一生根を絶つのである。《しみるのを耐えたのは少しも害にはならない》
　○疝気の薬
接骨木　甘草《少量》
右二味を普通のように煎じて用いればどれほど強い疝気でも痛みが早速治るのである。また別の方法として、
譲り葉《10匁》　椹の木《5匁》　木香《5匁》
檳榔子《5匁》　甘草《2匁》
右五味を普通のように煎じて服用して良い。効能は疝気、腹の痛み、虫の症状に用いて甚だ良い。また

干した蓼《大》　甘草《少量》　この二味を細末にして
白湯で振り出し、あとを普通のように煎じて飲んで良い。また別の方法として、
胡椒《1両半》　塩《1合5勺》　この二味をぬる湯にして盥に入れ腰湯をして良い。ただし浴衣で盥の上へ被せ、陰嚢、陰茎ともよく木綿でも絹でも包んでおいて腰を湯で温めて良い。浴衣は胡椒でむせない為である。
　○疝気のまじない
七月十五日の朝、天井水《まだ人の汲まない先の水を言う》を汲んで温飩の粉ほどに丸じて飲むべし。
　○脛瘡の薬
山梔子を水で摺り、脛瘡をよく洗って付けるべし。

○Clouds covering the Big Dipper mean heavy rain. When black clouds block it so the Big Dipper cannot be seen, rain within three days. When black clouds thickly cover the Big Dipper, rain that night. When yellow clouds cover the Big Dipper, rain falls tomorrow. When white vapor covers the Big Dipper, rain within three days. When blue vapor covers the Big Dipper, rain within five days.
○When there are no clouds in the sky but clouds above and below the Big Dipper, there will be heavy rain within five days. After sunset, when there is white light rising from the ground toward the Big Dipper and the stars in between have no light, strong wind will surely blow that night. When black vapor with moisture is between the leading star of the Big Dipper and there are clouds around it, rain will fall that night.

　○Medicine for tapeworms
For hernia where the scrotum swells and becomes large, various medicines have no effect. Mix mustard greens with vinegar and apply to the scrotum. Endure the strong stinging for about two hours. This will cut the root for a lifetime. 《Enduring the stinging causes no harm at all》
　○Medicine for hernia
Elderberry, Licorice root 《small amount》
If you decoct these two ingredients as usual and use them, no matter how severe the hernia, the pain will heal immediately. Another method:
Daphniphyllum leaves 《10 monme》, Chamaecyparis wood 《5 monme》, Aucklandia 《5 monme》
Areca nut 《5 monme》, Licorice root 《2 monme》
Decoct these five ingredients as usual and take. The efficacy is very good for hernia, abdominal pain, and parasitic symptoms. Also

Dried water pepper 《large》, Licorice root 《small amount》 - powder these two ingredients finely,
shake out with plain hot water, then decoct the remainder as usual and drink. Another method:
Black pepper 《1.5 ryō》, Salt 《1 gō 5 shaku》 - make lukewarm water with these two ingredients, put in a basin and take a hip bath. However, cover with a yukata over the basin, wrap both scrotum and penis well with cotton or silk, and warm the hips with the water. The yukata is to prevent choking on pepper fumes.
　○Hernia charm
On the morning of July 15th, draw "ceiling water" 《refers to water that no one has yet drawn》, roll it into balls about the size of udon flour and swallow.
　○Medicine for leg sores
Grind gardenia with water, wash the leg sores well and apply.
