そもそもお前たち
の家の内の
開帳仏を
申し上げよう。
菩薩の
御作にして
家業
如来と
申し奉る
のである。
御声
なくして
人を呼び、
門前に
得意の
参詣
市を
なし、
利分の三千
山をなすことみな
この如来の御恩
徳、御方便
である。すなわち
この尊像は
黄金男
女波羅蜜仙
尽千の御肌、
身辺資財の
仏にて、米屋にては
菩薩と現じ、
両替屋
にては黄金の仏と
現じ、八百屋にては青物、
酒屋にては酒、魚屋にては
魚、女郎屋にては女郎、
百姓にては牛馬まで
現じ給い、上は旦那、
下は下女のお三、
丁稚の長松、
飯炊きの三介ら
まで家内の
一切衆生を
済度なさいます。
家々に
よって
御名は
変われども
一体一仏にて
いらっしゃい
給うのです。
礼拝は
左
前に
ならぬ
ように
慎む
べし。
家業
如来は
ありがたい
御利益、先祖
菩薩をおろそかに
しては罰の当たらぬ
ようにするがよい。

Now then, let me tell you about
the exhibition buddhas
within your own
homes.
Made by
bodhisattvas,
they are called
Family Business
Tathāgata.
Without
voice
they call people,
creating markets
of regular customers
gathering for worship
before the gate.
The profits of three thousand
forming mountains—all of this
comes from this Tathāgata's benevolent
virtue and skillful means.
That is to say,
this sacred image is
the Golden Man
and Woman Perfection Sage
of Infinite Thousands, with divine skin,
a Buddha of personal wealth
and possessions. In rice shops, it
manifests as a bodhisattva,
in money exchange
houses as a golden Buddha,
in vegetable shops as produce,
in sake shops as sake, in fish shops as
fish, in brothels as courtesans,
among farmers as cattle and horses—
manifesting in all forms,
from the master above
to the maidservant Osan below,
the shop apprentice Chōmatsu,
the rice cook Sankei and
all others, delivering
all sentient beings
of the household.
Though the
sacred name
changes according
to each house,
it is one body, one Buddha
who resides
there.
In worship,
be careful
not to put
the left
before
the right.
Family Business
Tathāgata brings
blessed
benefits. Take care
not to neglect Ancestor
Bodhisattva, lest
punishment befall you.
