さて、また我が家の開山先祖菩薩と
申し上げるのは、一生難行苦行、
やせこけの行をなし、口に美味しい
ものを食わず、身に良い着物を着ず、ただ
一向一心に子孫を永く
上品上生吉祥
造りの蓮の
台に
導かん
と思し
召し、商売の
祖師方の
ごとく
一銭半銭の
商いにて
蔵造りの
一宇を建立
なされ、
得意という
檀家が
多く、
家繰りの
荘厳
日々しく、
利分の
金銭
おびただ
しく
落ちる
ように
なし給うのは
みなこの
先祖
菩薩の
御陰なり。
すなわち
大福帳
長
売帳は
先祖
開山
施行
建立の
御一代記

思うべし。

英語訳
Now, what we call the founding ancestor bodhisattva of our house
practiced difficult ascetic training throughout life,
performing emaciated austerities, not eating delicious
food, not wearing fine clothes, but with
single-minded devotion seeking to guide descendants forever
to the lotus
throne of
the highest grade
of the Pure Land,
thinking thus.
Like the
founding masters
of commerce,
through trading
in single coins and half-coins,
they established
a storehouse-built
edifice,
with many
patron-customers
called "regulars,"
daily magnificent
household
prosperity,
and profits in
gold and silver
falling
abundantly
like rain.
All of this
is due to
these ancestor
bodhisattvas'
divine protection.
Therefore,
the great ledger
and long
sales records
should be considered
the biographical
chronicles and
illustrated legends
of our ancestors'
founding
charitable works
and establishment.
