上陸仕候て宜しき神鬮下り候急艀を下シ乗移可
申と仕候所又雨風一時に吹下り相残候碇四つとも何と歟
引懸り候所風強船矢の如く䑺候故一時に四つとも打切
船舞歩行山近に相成候得ども寄付居不申内島山
の自然に澗の様に相成候所来懸り候に付澗え入申度
色々仕候内船風汐に迎ひて其島山を一廻仕元の
澗形の所の右の方の出崎え来懸り候所岩高にて澗
に入兼風に任候へは岩に当り押砕かれ可申体に付何も
打驚一心に金毘羅大権現へ奉祈念候所金色の御

【４行目「䑺」の字、このあとも何度か使われる。「帆」と同義とされるが「はしる」「わたる」など船の進行を示す動詞として使われているらしい。読み方不明】

然と左右へ引分レ艀を以て態々繋留候様に相成岩に
からみ付候様子にて船動不申是は偏に金毘羅大権現の
御利生と難有存明朝早々山に登り可申と存居夜明
候所彼からみ付居候碇の綱解舟ゆるき出風にさかひ
汐に迎ひ候て上り行候に付其行に随ひ候所汐の指引
甚しき所へ出大波打起二三枚波にて舟中九尺斗滄入に
相成色々相働居申内船は矢張風表へ上り行申候
翌日山も相見え候得ども寄付得不申次第に沖の
方へ舟出申候所又島一つ相見え其方へ船向行候に付
相悦居候所汐道甚しき所へ行合風と汐とにて船。

Tonight we cast divine lots to determine whether it would be good to approach this mountain, and immediately received a favorable oracle saying it would be good to land. We hurried to lower the small boat and transfer to it, when suddenly rain and wind came down all at once. The remaining four anchors caught on something, and as the wind was strong and the ship advanced like an arrow, all four anchor lines snapped at once. The ship danced forward and approached near the mountain, but before we could get close, we came upon a place where the island-mountain naturally formed what looked like an inlet. While trying various ways to enter the inlet, the ship, following the wind and tide, went around the entire island-mountain and came to a cape on the right side of the original inlet-shaped area. However, the rocks were high and we could hardly enter the inlet. If we let the wind take us, we would crash against the rocks and be crushed, so we all panicked and prayed wholeheartedly to Konpira Daigongen. Then what appeared to be a golden gohei came down, and as we all rejoiced and worshipped, unknowingly

the ship entered that inlet-like place, and the two anchor ropes naturally separated to the left and right, becoming entangled with the rocks as if deliberately moored with a small boat, so the ship did not move. Thinking this was entirely due to the divine blessing of Konpira Daigongen, we gratefully planned to climb the mountain early the next morning. While waiting for dawn, the entangled anchor ropes came loose, the ship began to drift, moving against the wind and with the tide. Following its course, we came to a place where the tidal currents were severe. Large waves arose, and in two or three waves about nine shaku of water entered the boat. While we worked frantically to deal with this, the ship continued moving upwind. The next day we could see mountains, but could not approach them. The ship gradually went toward the open sea, when we spotted another island. We rejoiced as the ship headed toward it, but we encountered a place with fierce tidal currents, and with the wind and tide the ship...
