後（ご）光（くわう）明（めい）天（てん）皇（わう）の御宇慶安二年に再（ふたゝ）ひ来朝
せしより已来毎度に及へり此たび亦／国（こく）王（わう）
即（そく）位（い）恩（おん）謝（しや）のため正（せい）副（ふく）二人の仗を奉る事

容易ではない。その上、中頃より中国との
交流に慣れ親しみ、やがてその国の制度にまで倣って
冠服なども中国風に従ったので、いよいよ
そのような方向に見なされて、あのオランダ、イギリス
などという遠い異国の者たちの類とまでも人々は
皆思うようになったのだろう。さて、この国の人々の来朝の
ことは古く続日本記にも見えているが、その後しばらくは
来なかったのか、どの書物にも見当たらないのを、
後光明天皇の御代の慶安二年に再び来朝
してより以来、毎度に及んでいる。この度もまた国王
即位恩謝のため正副二人の使節を奉ることが
あるにつき、行装の概要を記し、印刷に

Moreover, from around the middle period, they became familiar with exchanges with China, and eventually even adopted that country's institutions, following Chinese customs even in their court caps and clothing. Consequently, they came to be viewed increasingly in that direction, and people probably came to think of them as being in the same category as those from distant foreign lands such as the Dutch and the English. Now, regarding the visits of people from this country to our court, although they appear in the ancient Shoku Nihongi, they apparently did not come for some time afterward, as they are not mentioned in any written records. However, since they came to court again in the second year of Keian during the reign of Emperor Go-Kōmyō, they have continued to do so regularly. This time as well, there is an occasion to dispatch primary and secondary envoys to express gratitude for the king's enthronement, so I record the general outline of their procession attire for printing
