一行粧の見（み）物（もの）は琉王／楽（がく）童（どう）子（じ）その外一躰ことなる風儀めつら

　いつのよに行粧を見んもはかりかたく実に近代の
　粧（そう）観（くわん）なりよつて此本を持したらんには一時行列のみみたらん
　人にはなか〳〵まさるへくはた見し人のもたらんにはいよ〳〵
　其くわしきにいたるへきものなり
一行列は海陸数百里の道中ゆへ少しつゝの増減前後あり
　このほんやんことなき手筋をもつてくわしく
　相たゝし本格の行列をしるす

現代語訳

一、行列の見物は琉球王、楽童子その他一体異なる風俗、珍しい
　衣服、楽器の音色を要とする。文化三年寅年の
　来朝より当辰年まで二十七年目の来朝であり、また
　いつの世に行列を見ることができるかも分からず、実に近世の
　盛観である。よってこの本を持参したならば、一時の行列のみを見た
　人には大いに勝るであろうし、また見た人が持つならばますます
　その詳細に至ることができるものである。

一、行列は海陸数百里の道中ゆえ、少しずつの増減前後がある。
　この本は正確な手筋をもって詳しく
　相違なく、本格の行列を記す。

英語訳

One: The spectacle of the procession centers on the Ryukyu King, child musicians (gakudōji), and other entirely different customs, rare clothing, and the sounds of musical instruments. This is the 27th year since the court visit of Bunka 3, year of the Tiger, until this current year of the Dragon, and since one cannot know when such a procession might be seen again, it is truly a magnificent spectacle of recent times. Therefore, if one possesses this book, it will greatly surpass what those who have seen only a momentary procession can offer, and for those who have seen it, possessing this will lead to even greater detail.

One: Since the procession covers several hundred ri by sea and land, there are slight increases and decreases along the way. This book, using accurate methods, records in detail the authentic procession without error.
