縁の庇と廊下の庇には、貴律儀（ガラス）で六角または丸形に作られた灯籠を掛け並べている（オランダ文字で透かしを付けた灯籠もある）。アメリカ製に倣った丸木の階段などもある。席前の縁から真下を見下ろすと中庭があり、庭は叩き（土間）で泉水があり、向こうに篠竹、前に御柳を植え、竹の根元には養老石を置いている。御柳の脇には石で積み上げた塀がある。泉水の中の石間から噴水が出て、吹き上がること八尺余り、二階の廊下でその水を手に受けられるほどである。この席の前の左の方から竹を敷き並べて作った露台がある。そこに

On the eaves of the veranda and corridor, lanterns made of glass in hexagonal or round shapes are hung in rows (there are also lanterns with Dutch lettering cutouts). There are also round wooden stairs made in imitation of American design. Looking straight down from the veranda in front of the seating area, there is an inner courtyard. The garden has a tamped earth surface with a fountain, and beyond it bamboo grass is planted, with weeping willows in front. Yōrō stones are placed at the base of the bamboo. Next to the weeping willows is a wall built up with stones. Water spouts from between the stones in the fountain, shooting up more than eight shaku high—enough that one can catch the water in their hands from the second-floor corridor.
