鉢植の草木五ッ六ッならべたり此露台に行くには
見過して通り来りし六畳しきの座舗の東の方に
聊かの廊ありて切ぬき口を出ればすなはち露台こ
の口にも例の幃をかけたりこゝの切り抜き口に清朝
仕立ともいふべき雪踏一足見ゆ《割書:此雪踏は清朝より来りし品|にはあらず疑ふるくは山本》
《割書:庄左衛門が六文屋へあつらへて拵へし形をとりて造りしなるへし鍵半か玉川三次|等の御世話成るべし》
席の畳は二尺八寸 四方縁を付けて仕立 それ
を筋違ひに敷て磚のごとく仕なせり 畳の上に
は紅ダンツウの二間に九尺ばかりなるを敷丸
き黒漆の卓台あり台の上に玻瓈(ギヤマン) 鬱金 花状璣(コツプ)玻(ギヤ)
瓈(マン)の碟等を客の数ほど四方にならぶ箸をそふ
紙箸はのりいれ紙をたゝみて上に寿の字を紅も
てしるす台の真中に薄荷酒 保命酒をギヤマ
ンの瓶に入れて居ゆ切子のふたものに砂糖の
けありまた切子の箸立に数箸を数膳立たりさ
て料理にいたりては小菜に

現代語訳
鉢植えの草木を五つ六つ並べてあった。この露台に行くには、見過ごして通り過ぎてきた六畳敷きの座敷の東の方に少しの廊下があって、切り抜き口を出ればすなわち露台である。この口にも例の幕をかけてあった。ここの切り抜き口に清朝仕立てとも言うべき雪踏が一足見える(この雪踏は清朝より来た品ではなく、おそらく昔、山本庄左衛門が六文屋に注文して作らせた形を取って造ったものであろう。鍵半や玉川三次等の世話によるものであろう)。
席の畳は二尺八寸四方で縁を付けて仕立て、それを筋違いに敷いて煉瓦のように仕立ててある。畳の上には紅ダンツウの二間に九尺ばかりのものを敷き、丸い黒漆の卓台がある。台の上にはギヤマン(ガラス製)の鬱金色の花状のコップ、ギヤマンの皿等を客の数ほど四方に並べ、箸を添える。紙箸は糊入れ紙をたたんで上に寿の字を紅で記す。台の真中に薄荷酒、保命酒をギヤマンの瓶に入れて置く。切子のふた物に砂糖があり、また切子の箸立てに箸を数膳立ててある。

Five or six potted plants and trees were arranged there. To reach this open platform, one would go past the six-tatami room that had been overlooked and passed by, where there was a small corridor to the east, and upon exiting through a cut-out opening, one would reach the platform. This opening also had the usual curtain hanging. At this cut-out opening, a pair of wooden clogs in what could be called Qing dynasty style could be seen (these clogs were not items that came from the Qing dynasty, but were likely made long ago by Yamamoto Shōzaemon, who had them custom-made at Rokumonya, copying that style. They were probably arranged through the services of Kagihan, Tamagawa Sanji, and others).
The seat mats were two shaku and eight sun square with borders attached, laid diagonally like bricks. On top of the mats, a red cotton cloth about two ken by nine shaku was spread, and there was a round black lacquered table. On the table, glass cups in turmeric yellow with flower patterns, glass plates, and so forth were arranged around the four sides according to the number of guests, with chopsticks provided. The paper chopstick wraps were made by folding glue-paper and marking the character for "longevity" (寿) in red on top. In the center of the table, mint liqueur and hōmei-shu (medicinal sake) were placed in glass bottles. There was sugar in cut-glass covered containers, and several pairs of chopsticks stood in cut-glass chopstick holders.
