防致候儀日本に相替不申候由
一城郭躰之所見懸不申候由
一土地之事オアホ之内漂流人共罷在候ホノルヽと申
処之海岸は山之方へ六七丁も有之東西は平地に而一
躰相開南に海上扣候場所にて有之山多高山も有之
ハウ并センタン之木多有之諸州鯨漁船入津之比は
至而賑ひ候得共時候に寄出帆後は淋敷相成金銀
銅銭等は都而外国より持渡り候金銀銭を以国用
に相弁候由銀銭一枚は銭二貫文に相当り申候由
オアホは七嶋有之南之端は嶋名アトカイ北之上之
嶋オアホ中ノ嶋モロカイモーフイナラベ大き成嶋ハワイ今
一ッ嶋の名は失念右外にも至而小き嶋々は有之大き成

一、土地のこと オアホの内で漂流人共がいた「ホノルル」と申す所の海岸は、山の方へ六、七町もあり、東西は平地で一体に開けており、南に海上を控えた場所でした。山は多く、高山もあり、ハウ並びにセンタンの木が多くありました。諸州の鯨漁船が入港する頃は至って賑わいますが、時候により出帆後は寂しくなります。金銀銅銭等は全て外国より持ち渡った金銀銭を以って国用に充てているそうです。銀銭一枚は銭二貫文に相当するそうです。
オアホは七島あり、南の端は島名アトカイ、北の上の島オアホ、中の島モロカイ、モーフイナラベ、大きな島ハワイ、もう一つ島の名は失念しました。この他にも至って小さい島々があります。大きな島は琉球一ヶ国位に見え、その余の六島は凡そ廻り三、四十里位ずつに見えました。
一、草木のこと ハウと申す桐に似寄った木があり、松、桧、樫、杉、梅、桜等の木は見かけません。センタンの大木があり、密林等も見かけます。その外、葉の様子が変わった樹木並びに草花が色々あり、四季共に花が咲いていますが、日本で見かける草木ではありません。

Regarding the land: Within Oahu, at the place called "Honolulu" where the castaways resided, the coastline extends six to seven chō toward the mountains. East and west is flatland, generally open, with the ocean to the south. There are many mountains, including high peaks, with abundant hau and sandalwood trees. When whaling ships from various states enter port, it becomes quite bustling, but depending on the season, after they set sail it becomes lonely again. All gold, silver, and copper coins are brought from foreign countries, and these foreign gold and silver coins serve the nation's currency needs. One silver coin is equivalent to two kan-mon in Japanese currency.
Oahu consists of seven islands. The southernmost island is named Atokai, the northernmost island is Oahu, the middle island Morokai, then Mōhui Narabe, the large island Hawaii, and one more island whose name I have forgotten. Besides these, there are very small islands as well. The large island appears to be about the size of the entire kingdom of Ryukyu, while the remaining six islands each appear to have a circumference of about thirty to forty ri.
Regarding vegetation: There is a tree called hau that resembles paulownia. Pine, cypress, oak, cedar, plum, and cherry trees are not seen. There are large sandalwood trees and dense forests are observed. Additionally, there are various trees and flowering plants with differently shaped leaves. Flowers bloom throughout all four seasons, but these are not plants seen in Japan.
