一オアホ之内ホノルヽに頭立候者罷在名はキンアケオリ
　と申右頭役居所は北之方は山にて南に海を扣凡三百丁
　四方も有之家来は構内に住居表門は南にて
　東北共番所三ヶ所有之番所には勤番之足軽
　躰之者二人居釼付鉄砲を持立固め又居固め罷在
　一時ッヽ代り合致候由
一右頭役外出致壱二里位歩行之節は馬に乗装
　束はアメリカ之服躰毛織相用金之両房を餝
　り供人も多召連候を見受又一ヶ年一両度国中

一、オアホの内ホノルルに頭立つ者が居り、名前はキンアケオリと申します。右の頭役の居住地は北の方は山で南に海を控え、おおよそ三百丁四方ほどあります。家来は構内に住居し、表門は南にあって、東北ともに番所が三ヶ所あります。番所には勤番の足軽体の者が二人おり、刀付き鉄砲を持って立ち固め、また居固めております。一時ずつ交代いたします。

　We report below what the castaways witnessed and heard:
1. In Honolulu within Oahu, there is a leader whose name is King Kauikeaouli. The residence of this chief has mountains to the north and faces the sea to the south, spanning approximately 300 chō square. His retainers live within the compound, with the main gate facing south. There are three guard posts to the east and north, each manned by two ashigaru-like guards carrying swords and guns who stand guard and maintain positions, rotating every hour.
1. When this chief goes out and walks one or two ri, he rides a horse. His attire is American-style clothing made of wool, decorated with gold tassels, and he is accompanied by many attendants. Once or twice a year throughout the country
