土地は肥沃で、物産の多さは中頭地方で第一である。中頭役所は宜野湾村にある。那覇から約三里七町の距離である。
普天間村に洞窟がある。幅約五、六間、深さ約七、八間。洞窟の中に祠がある。普天間宮という。参拝者が絶え間なく続いている。洞窟の天井では石乳が滴り落ちて凝固し、柱状になっている。その数は数え切れない。短いものは、まさに氷柱を吊るしたようである。実に南島中の一つの奇観である。
物産は米、大豆、砂糖、サツマイモ、藍、タバコなどである。
中城間切には二十三か村がある。東は海に面し、西は北谷間切の一隅を受けて宜野湾間切に交わり、南は西原間切に境を接し、北は美里・越来二間切に接する。土地の肥沃さは中頭地方で第二等である。那覇から約四里二十二町の距離である。
中城城跡は本間切の中央山上にある。尚氏の忠臣護佐丸が建築したという。城壁は今なお存在している。この地は東は海に臨み、西もまた遙かに大洋を控え、眺望が開けている。朝夕に日月が波際から出没するのを観ることができる。実に絶景の地である。
物産は米、麦、砂糖、サツマイモ、タバコなどである。

The land is fertile, and in terms of abundant products, it ranks first in the Nakagami region. The Nakagami government office is located in Ginowan village. It is approximately three ri and seven chō distant from Naha.
In Futenma village there is a cave. It is about five to six ken wide and seven to eight ken deep. Inside the cave there is a shrine called Futenma-gū. Worshippers come in an endless stream. On the cave ceiling, limestone stalactites have dripped down and solidified into pillar-like formations. Their number is countless. The short ones look exactly like hanging icicles. It is truly one of the wondrous sights of the southern islands.
Local products include rice, soybeans, sugar, sweet potatoes, indigo, tobacco, and others.
Nakagusuku Magiri has twenty-three villages. The east faces the sea, the west receives a corner of Chatan Magiri and intersects with Ginowan Magiri, the south borders Nishihara Magiri, and the north adjoins Misato and Goshikawa, the two magiri. The fertility of the land ranks second in the Nakagami region. It is approximately four ri and twenty-two chō distant from Naha.
The ruins of Nakagusuku Castle are located on a mountain in the center of this magiri. It is said to have been built by Gosamaru, a loyal retainer of the Shō clan. The castle walls still exist today. This location faces the sea to the east and also commands a distant view of the great ocean to the west, with an expansive panorama. One can observe the sun and moon rising and setting from the water's edge morning and evening. It is truly a place of magnificent scenery.
