Katsuren Magiri has seven villages. It is a small magiri in the Nakagami region. To the east it connects to Yonashiro Magiri, to the west it faces Nakagusuku Magiri across a bay, to the north it intersects with Gushikawa and Misato, the two magiri, and to the southwest it projects into the sea. Its cape faces the distant Chinen Cape of Shimajiri. It is approximately nine ri distant from Naha.
In Haebaru village there are ancient castle ruins called Katsuren Castle. This was the place where Katsuren Aji Amawari plotted rebellion in ancient times, and it was a location of utmost strategic importance. The broken walls still exist today. Tsuken Island lies in front of the cape, aligned with Kudaka Island of Chinen Magiri. Its circumference is about five ri. To its north is Hamahiga Island, which faces the islands of Henza and Takahanarizima of Yonashiro Magiri. The distance between them is no more than one ri.
Local products include sugar, miscellaneous grains, sweet potatoes, rush matting, and others.
Yonashiro Magiri has nine villages. Together with Katsuren Magiri, it forms a peninsula projecting into the sea. The southeast faces the sea, the west connects to Katsuren Magiri, and the north faces Nanukahama of Kin Magiri and adjoins Gushikawa Magiri. It is approximately nine ri and eighteen chō distant from Naha.
The three islands of Takahanarizima, Ikei, and Henza belong to this magiri.
