伊平屋島は今帰仁間切より西北におよそ十里ほど離れた海中にある。山林が多く平野は少ない。伊平屋・伊是名・野甫・具志川・屋那覇の五島に分かれる。戸数は七百十余りで、人口は四千九百二十余りある。那覇からの距離はおよそ三十里である。
伊平屋島は周囲およそ四里二十六町ある。別名を葉壁山という。尚氏の祖である尚円王は、この島より起こったという。
伊是名島は伊平屋から一里余りの距離にあり、周囲はおよそ二里十八町。伊是名村に城跡があり、伊是名城という。神山は勢理客村にある。樹木が鬱蒼と茂っているが、土地の人々は山神の祟りを恐れ、伐採しないという。
伊是名と伊平屋の中間は、海底の凹凸が特に激しい。そのため怒涛が逆流して、渡船は極めて危険である。
野甫・具志川・屋那覇などは皆小島で、周囲は一里に過ぎない。

Iheya Island is located in the sea about ten ri northwest of Nakijin magiri. It has many mountains and forests but few plains. It is divided into five islands: Iheya, Izena, Noho, Gushikawa, and Yanaha. There are over 710 households with a population of over 4,920. It is about thirty ri from Naha.
Iheya Island has a circumference of about four ri and twenty-six chō. It is also called Mount Hakabe. King Shō En, the ancestor of the Shō dynasty, is said to have originated from this island.
Izena Island is over one ri from Iheya, with a circumference of about two ri and eighteen chō. There are castle ruins in Izena village, called Izena Castle. Mount Kamiyama is in Serikaku village. Although the trees grow luxuriantly, the local people fear the curse of the mountain god and do not cut them down.
The area between Izena and Iheya has particularly severe irregularities on the seabed. Therefore, raging waves create countercurrents, making ferry crossings extremely dangerous.
Noho, Gushikawa, Yanaha, and others are all small islands with circumferences of no more than one ri.
