島中には山林がなく、地勢は平坦である。台風の被害が特に甚大である。そのため家屋の構造は、極めて低く建てられているという。
物産は真綿、桑の実の煎じ汁、雑穀などである。
久米島は那覇の西、約四十八里ほどのところにある。周囲は六里二十町。分けて仲里・具志川の二間切とする。戸数は千二百十余りで、人口は四千八百六十余りある。
仲里間切真謝村は、久米島役所のある所である。また診察所も設けられている。真謝村には同名の港がある。しかしながら暗礁が多くて、船舶の停泊には不便である。
兼城港は具志川間切にある。船舶を係留するのに適している。
中央に宇江城・大岳・中森などの諸山がある。また南端に島尻山がある。樹木が繁茂している。しかしながら平地が多くて、土壌の肥沃さは離島中第一だという。

Aguni Island is located about seven to eight ri northwest of Tonaki Island. Its circumference is about two ri. There are over 660 households with a population of over 4,080.
The island has no forests, and the terrain is flat. The threat of typhoons is particularly severe. Therefore, it is said that house construction is extremely low-built.
Products include silk floss, mulberry juice extract, and miscellaneous grains.
Kume Island is located about forty-eight ri west of Naha. Its circumference is six ri and twenty chō. It is divided into the two magiri of Nakazato and Gushikawa. There are over 1,210 households with a population of over 4,860.
Masha Village in Nakazato magiri is where the Kume Island government office is located. There is also a medical clinic established there. Masha Village has a port of the same name. However, there are many hidden reefs, making it inconvenient for anchoring ships.
Kanegusuku Port is in Gushikawa magiri. It is suitable for mooring vessels.
In the center are various mountains including Uegusuku, Ōtake, and Nakamori. There is also Shimaziri Mountain at the southern tip. Trees grow luxuriantly. However, there is much flat land, and the fertility of the soil is said to be first among the outlying islands.
