浅い。潮が満ちると舟が通行でき、潮が引くと平らな砂地となる。ただ中央に一筋の細い流れを残すのみである。また湾内に大小二つの島がある。大きいものを奥武山（おうのやま）といい、小さいものを瀬長島（がーなーもり）という。満潮の際には、潮水が一面に広がり、湖山の風情があるため、詩人たちはこれを漫湖（まんこ）と呼んでいる。
渡地は島尻往来の渡し場である。古くから小舟で人を渡していたが、明治十六年に大きな橋を架けて往来に便利にした。これを明治橋と名付けた。長さはおよそ六十間で、国中第一の長橋である。橋の東、奥武山の西端で湾に面して御物城跡がある。昔、外国との貿易品を保管した場所である。今その跡地に一つの建物を新設して博物館としている。
三重城は那覇港口の北に突き出した古い砦である。海上に胸壁を築き、壁の間に砲門や矢狭間がある。南の小禄間切のやらざ鼻の古い砦と、港口を挟んで向かい合っている。この古い砦に登ると、眺めが爽快で、水平線が万里に渡って果てしない。ただ西南の煙

shallow. When the tide comes in, boats can pass through; when the tide recedes, it becomes flat sand. Only a single narrow stream remains in the center. There are also two islands, large and small, within the bay. The large one is called Onoyama, and the small one is called Gānamori. During high tide, when the tidal waters spread expansively, creating the scenic beauty of a lake and mountain landscape, poets call it Manko.
Watashi-chi is the ferry landing for traffic to and from Shimajiri. Since ancient times, people were ferried across by small boats, but in Meiji 16 (1883), a large bridge was constructed for the convenience of travel. It was named Meiji Bridge. Its length is approximately sixty ken, making it the longest bridge in the country. East of the bridge, at the western end of Onoyama facing the bay, are the ruins of Omono-gusuku. This was formerly a place where goods traded with foreign countries were stored. Now a new building has been constructed on that site to serve as a museum.
Miigusuku is an ancient fortress protruding to the north of Naha harbor entrance. Ramparts were built over the sea, with gun ports and arrow slits between the walls. It faces the ancient fortress at Yaraza Point in southern Oroku magiri across the harbor entrance.
