一 弁才天河原之内高島河原流跡近年鉾持
村より切起し畑といたし候処去る卯五月小原
村より大勢罷出麦苅取鍬鎌押取候ニ付
及争論其段鉾持村ゟ致出訴候依之此
度双方召呼遂詮議候処右論所ハ正徳
元卯五月両村及論事其節詮議之上
小島弥太夫親五郎八請置候畑拾歩之

鉾持村・小原村への申し渡し裁許について
一 弁才天河原の内、高島河原の流跡を近年鉾持村が切り起こして畑としていたところ、去る卯年五月に小原村から大勢で押しかけて麦を刈り取り、鍬や鎌を押収したことから争論となり、その件について鉾持村が訴え出た。これにより今度双方を呼び出して詮議したところ、右の争いの場所は正徳元年卯年五月に両村が争論となった件で、その節の詮議の上で小島弥太夫親五郎八が請け置いた畑十歩の境界を定め置き、残りの争論の場所についてはすべて御定めが申し付けられ、双方が一紙連印の証文を差し出し置いていたところ

Regarding the official judicial decision delivered to Hokomochi Village and Ohara Village:
Item 1: In recent years, Hokomochi Village had cleared and cultivated fields on the riverbed remains of Takashima Kawahara within Benzaiten Kawahara. However, in the 5th month of the previous Rabbit year, a large group from Ohara Village came and harvested the wheat, seizing hoes and sickles, which led to a dispute. Hokomochi Village filed a complaint regarding this matter. Therefore, both parties were summoned for investigation. It was found that this disputed land was the subject of a conflict between both villages in the 5th month of the Rabbit year of Shōtoku 1st year. After investigation at that time, boundaries were established for a 10-bu field that Kojima Yatayu Oyagorōhachi had contracted, and for the remaining disputed areas, all matters were officially determined, with both parties submitting jointly signed documentary evidence.
