英語訳
1. Soon, with the high-ranking families (kōke) leading, Lord Takatsukasa arrived, and there was coordination regarding the high-ranking families attending to hospitality. Immediately following this, three court nobles including the palace messenger arrived and completed the same procedures. As they were to proceed to the White Study Hall, we immediately opened the sliding doors of the great corridor at the threshold of the Sakura-no-ma, opened the sliding doors of the Yanagi-no-ma corridor, entered inside, and proceeded from the Bush Warbler sliding doors to the veranda side of the Teikan-no-ma, where we took our seats at the end position as shown in the diagram.
1. The shichi-go-san ceremonial meal was served, then the elders came out for greetings, and after the ceremonial stands were brought out, Mizuno Dewa-no-kami, serving as messenger and duty officer, arrived. From earlier, the meal trays were gradually cleared, and when the lacquered bowls with designs, arranged dishes, and sweets were served, we opened the sliding doors as before, passed through the wooden veranda to the Sakura-no-ma, and the three of us took our seats as previously.
1. When the banquet was concluded, the monks opened the duck sliding doors, the high-ranking families led the way as the court nobles exchanged courtesies, performed the seasonal greetings as before, and departed through the great corridor. Shimōsa and I followed behind them, waited in the area of the south veranda of the Yanagi-no-ma, and then proceeded again to the wooden veranda to watch the Noh performance.
However, Hori Yamato went directly to the kitchen area, and during the time the banquet was concluded, he reported this through the head dōbō (attendant).
