現代語訳
大太法師の小姓、滅相童子「これは良い肴でございます。生き人形芝居まで見られて。」
大王の刺身皿へ水を入れ、親船を浮かべて船頭や水主の技を御覧になり、興に入りなさる。その鼻息にて船の帆が風を受け、皿の内を巡る。
「これは何とも言えぬ慰みじゃ。」
「さても良い玩び物じゃ。なんと面白いことではないか。あれあれ、動くではないか。」

英語訳
Daidara-bocchi's page, Messō-dōji: "This is excellent entertainment. We can even watch a living puppet show."
The great king poured water into his sashimi plate and floated the ship upon it, watching the techniques of the captain and sailors with great delight. With his breath, the ship's sail caught wind and sailed around within the plate.
