で漂着以後の事を詳しく記録する。墨汁が尽きるに至って止む。これは筆墨の代用となる物がないためである。○また有益な器具がある。即ち墨汁、火鉢、耕具、縫針、絹糸、綿糸がある。これはかつて衣服を製作するのに慣れているからである。○一年間、家にいて上記の諸器具で多くの製作を成し遂げる。○また林中の木を伐って杭とし、柵を広げて家を大きくしようとする。初めは重い木片で支えようとしたが、今は便利に従って鉄の梃子を用いる。○諸器具がかなり揃って用をなすには十分であるが、ただ食糧が日々減少することを心配するのみ。そもそも我が身の上の事を振り返ってみると、吉事もあり凶事もある。列挙して後の人に示す。○凶○荒島に来て諸物に乏しいことを患う。○吉○私が他の人々のように溺れずに安全であるのは大いなる幸いである

I recorded in detail the events following my being washed ashore.
