これを不思議に思ったが、よく考えてみると、すべて地震の仕業である。破船の壊れた板が潮の流れに従って流れてくる。またその場所に至り、斧で材木を取ること多数。
第三日、砂中の材片を掘り出し、鋸で裁断した。潮が満ちてくればやめる。
第四日、釣りをして一尾を得た。これより時々漁をする。多く獲れれば太陽で干して貯蔵する。「ドルヘイン」（大魚の名）という魚を獲りたいと思うが、釣り具が不足している。
第五日、破船より三片の長板を鋸で切り取って帰る。
第六日、鉄器を製造する。その労苦はさらに大きい。
第七日、破船が水と砂のために自然に壊れ裂け、船中にはただ水と砂のみ。

第八日、鉄の梃子を携えて破船に至り、片々に離して陸に運ぶ。鉄梃子はこの場所に留め置く。
第九日、船底が波によって砂上に押し上げられたものを破って見ると、内に数個の桶があり、また鉛の塊があり、甚だ重い。
第十日より第十四日に至るまで、多くの木片を取った。また三百斤の廃鉄を得た。
第十五日、その鉛塊を取ろうとして両斧を手にして行く。鉛塊は水中にあって深さ一尺余りであるため、一つの斧の刃を鉛の上に置き、他の斧の背でこれを叩いて取る。
第十六日、林中において鳩の雛を捕えて帰る。繁殖させて食料に供しようと思う。この夜は大風。

I found this strange, but upon careful consideration, it was all the doing of the earthquake. Broken planks from the wrecked ship drifted along with the advancing tide. I also went to that place and obtained numerous pieces of timber with the axe.
On the 3rd day, I dug out fragments of timber from the sand and cut them with a saw. When the tide came in, I stopped.
On the 4th day, I fished and caught one fish. From this time, I occasionally fished. When I caught many, I dried them in the sun and stored them. I wanted to catch a fish called "Dorhein" (the name of a large fish), but I lacked fishing equipment.
On the 5th day, I sawed three long planks from the wrecked ship and returned.
On the 6th day, I manufactured iron tools. This labor was even greater.
On the 7th day, the wrecked ship naturally broke apart due to water and sand, and inside the ship there was only water and sand.

On the 8th day, I carried an iron lever to the wrecked ship, broke it apart piece by piece, and transported them to land. I left the iron lever at this location.

On the 16th day, I caught dove chicks in the forest and returned. I intended to breed them to provide food. This night brought strong winds.
