いたします段、かねがね承知しておりますので、オランダ人に頼んで日本へ送り帰してくれるようにお願いしたところ、ロシアの皇帝へ差し出した帰国願いを取り下げて、ロシアの手を離れれば送り届けましょうと申しました。海上でどのくらいかかるか尋ねますと、三年かかると答えました。ロシアからはそれほど年月はかからないように聞いておりますが、万一願いが違ってしまった場合は、オランダ人に頼もうと思っております内に、貴国のことをお申し渡しになった次第でございます。イルクーツクにて朝鮮人を見ました。唐人も見ました。北京人だということでございます。冬中は橇に乗り氷の上を犬に引かせます。一人に犬四匹ずつかけます。非常に早い乗り物でございます。ペテルブルクに鼠ほどの猪、兎、雀ほどの矮鶏がおり
