伯多録（ベルト）の像は霊屋に安置仕御座候御宝庫に大なる磁石有之
大きさ三尺計にて四角みに筋金を入候て釣下御座候其四隅に百貫目
つゝの碇一挺つゝ吸付居申候磁石の脇に仕かけ候／螺旋（ネジ）を捩候へは
吸所の喰違候故にや四方の碇地に落申候又ゝ螺旋を戻候へは件の
碇飛上り元のことく吸附申候

答
ペートル（大帝）の像は霊廟に安置されています。宝物庫に大きな磁石があり、大きさは三尺ほどで四角く、筋金を入れて吊り下げてあります。その四隅に百貫目ずつの錨が一挺ずつ吸い付いています。磁石の脇に仕掛けたネジを捻ると、吸着部分がずれるためでしょうか、四方の錨が地に落ちます。再びネジを戻すと、その錨は飛び上がって元のように吸い付きます。

砲口に仰向けになって手を伸ばすと、指先が少し引っかかります。長さは三間ほどに見えました。同じ場所に大鐘があります。焼け落ちたということで、鐘は大地に食い込んでいます。周りを堀り、石垣を築いて、その中へ下りて見ることができるようにしてあります。その大きさは言葉では表せないほどです。重さは日本の四貫五百目を一貫目として、二千五百貫目があるということです。小山のように見えました。
