しとてとかく中なをしせんほとには東国の勢も攻
上りてんあなかしこわ君ひとり奉行等と中たかひ
してこゝにて軍起さん事しかるへからすとて返し給ひ
しに勝俊伏見の城を出つ秀秋此うへは伏見の城に入て
東国の御勢と共にたてこもり内府をまちつけ参らす
へしとて伏見の城に使いたて候此由をいはせらる鳥居
彦右衛門尉元忠その旨にしたかはすまこと内府の御方
せさ候由給はんには寄年の人々と共に此城に向ひたまひ
いかにとも人々ｎにうたかはれ給はぬやうにこしらへて
東国の軍勢攻のほらん時にうら切させ由給ふへし
御使の旨をは関東に申すへきにて候と答へて元忠か
郎等一人関東に下してかくと申す《割書：一伊与田弥五右衛門といふ｜郎等を下せしと也》
秀秋力およはす家人平岡石見守して黒田甲斐守
長政につきて《割書：平岡は黒田如水｜入道かめいむこ也》 関東に此よしを申て寄手
にそくわゝりける伏見の城落てのち此城にて東国
のせののほらんほとを侍へしへしとおもいひしに城悉くやかれ
ぬかくて上方の軍勢 東山東海北陸より 攻下る
秀秋もいそき発向あるへしと 催促度々に およふ
あるひは伏見まて手負し兵を助あるひは本国より
はせ上る勢をまつるといひて日をおくりかさねて
現代語訳
しとして、とかく仲直りをしようとするほどには、東国の軍勢も攻め上ってくるでしょう。あぁ恐ろしい。あなた一人が奉行たちと仲違いして、ここで戦を起こすことは適切ではありません」として返された。そこで勝俊は伏見城を出た。秀秋は「この上は伏見城に入って東国の軍勢と共に立て籠もり、内府をお待ち申し上げよう」として伏見城に使者を立て、この旨を伝えさせた。
鳥居彦右衛門尉元忠はその趣旨に従わず、「もし本当に内府の御方に仕えられるのであれば、寄せ手の人々と共にこの城に向かいなさい。どのようにしても人々に疑われないように取り計らって、東国の軍勢が攻め上る時に裏切らせるようになさるべきです。お使いの趣旨は関東に申し上げることにいたします」と答えて、元忠は家来一人を関東に下してこのように申し上げた。《割書：伊与田弥五右衛門という家来を下したということである》
秀秋は力及ばず、家臣の平岡石見守をして黒田甲斐守長政につけて《割書：平岡は黒田如水入道の姪婿である》関東にこの旨を申し上げて、寄せ手に加わった。伏見城が落ちた後、この城で東国の軍勢が攻め上るのを待とうと思ったが、城は悉く焼かれてしまった。こうして上方の軍勢が東山道・東海道・北陸道より攻め下る。秀秋も急いで出陣するようにと催促が度々に及んだ。ある時は伏見まで手負いの兵を助け、ある時は本国より駆け上る軍勢を待つと言って日を送り重ねて

Torii Hikouemon-no-jō Mototada did not comply with this proposal, answering: "If you truly intend to serve Lord Naifu, then approach this castle together with the besieging forces. Arrange it so that people will not suspect you in any way, and you should betray them when the eastern forces attack. I will report your messenger's intent to the Kantō region." Hideaki, having no other choice, sent his retainer Hiraoka Iwami-no-kami to Kuroda Kai-no-kami Nagamasa [Marginal note: Hiraoka was the nephew-in-law of Kuroda Josui-nyūdō] to report this matter to the Kantō region, and joined the besieging forces. After Fushimi Castle fell, he thought to wait in this castle for the eastern forces to attack, but the castle was completely burned down. Thus the western forces attacked down the Tōsandō, Tōkaidō, and Hokuriku routes. Hideaki was repeatedly urged to advance quickly as well. Sometimes saying he was helping wounded soldiers at Fushimi, sometimes saying he was waiting for forces rushing up from his home province, he delayed day after day.
