黒田か許へ平岡か弟出羽守を質として神木

黒田の許へ平岡の弟である出羽守を人質として、神木清兵衛尉、齋藤与右衛門の二人の使者をつけて関東に下した。「これ以上はいかがなものか」として、ようやく大坂を出発した。道中でまた日数を重ねて、徳川殿がすでに尾張国に入られたと聞いて、関ヶ原の手前の松尾山に至って陣を取り、九月十五日に東西の軍が矢合わせ（戦闘開始）すると見るや、上方の軍勢の後ろから切ってかかった。そのため敵は前後を防ぎかねて、たちまち敗れ去った。戦が終わった後、徳川殿の御陣に参られると、お喜びは並々ならぬものであった。秀秋はまた佐和山の先陣を望まれ、同月十七日にここも攻め破って、石田の一族をことごとく誅殺された。
この年十一月に恩賞を行い、秀秋に備前・備中・美作三ヶ国を給わった（七十二万石を領した。本領は三十三万六千四十石であったという）。幾ほども経たずして慶長六年七月十八日、秀秋は二十三歳で早世された。世継ぎがなかったので家は断絶した。

He sent Hiraoka's younger brother, Dewa-no-kami, as a hostage to Kuroda, along with two messengers, Kamiki Seibei-no-jō and Saitō Yoemon, to the Kantō region. Saying "This is as far as we should go," he finally departed from Osaka. Spending more days on the road, when he heard that Lord Tokugawa had already entered Owari Province, he reached Matsuo Mountain before Sekigahara and set up camp. On September 15th, when he saw the eastern and western armies beginning battle, he attacked the western forces from behind. As a result, the enemy could not defend both front and rear and were immediately defeated. After the battle ended, when he visited Lord Tokugawa's camp, his joy was extraordinary. Hideaki also requested to lead the vanguard against Sawayama, and on the 17th of the same month, he conquered this place as well, and all of Ishida's clan were executed.
In the eleventh month of that year, rewards were distributed, and Hideaki was granted the three provinces of Bizen, Bitchū, and Mimasaka (ruling 720,000 koku. His original domain was said to be 336,040 koku). Not long after, on July 18th of Keichō 6 (1601), Hideaki died young at the age of twenty-three. Since he had no heir, his house was abolished.
