の御心をあらためられ御あやまちを謝し申されんか
ため御母上をして《場所：駿府》《場所：江戸》の間にまいらせをかる
へき所也 正則年来関東の御忍かうふる身と
なつて二心をおもはす 妻子また 関東にありて
陣まいらするにしたかはせ給さらんには正則天下の軍
勢にたきたちて馳むかひすみやかに 御勢をうち
やふりて参らせんその時に至てくやませたまふ事
ありともそのかひあるはからす御家運のめて度渡らせ
給んときなからんも御はからひにこそよるへけれと
のせたり同き十六日又 正則か使者 大御所《場所：岡崎》の
御陣にはせ来り一通の書を献るこれ正則先陣を

与えられるべき時が到来したのである。ただ、すべからく母子の御心を改められ、御過ちを謝し申し上げられるため、御母上をして駿府・江戸の間に参らせ置かれるべき所である。正則は年来関東の御恩を蒙る身となって二心を思わず、妻子もまた関東にありて参上するのに従わせ給わないのであれば、正則は天下の軍勢に対し立ち向かって馳せ向かい、速やかに御勢を打ち破って参らせよう。その時に至って悔やませ給う事があっても、その甲斐はあるはずがない。御家運の尽きて渡らせ給う時でなくても、御計らいによるものであろう」
と記した。同じく十六日、また正則の使者が大御所の岡崎の御陣に馳せ来たり、一通の書を献上した。これは正則が先陣を給わって馳せ向かい、速やかに彼の何党等を誅すべき由を望み申した所である。大御所は「正則の申す所は神妙である。ただそのまま関東にありて、妻子ことごとく城中に参らせ置くべし」と仰せありて、使者を返された。二十二日、永原の御陣に竹中伊豆守重利を召され、急ぎ正則の国に馳せ下り、備後守正勝と共に彼の軍勢を催して大坂に向かうべしと仰せ下される。明くれば二十二日、都に入らせ給いし日、正則の使者が大坂より帰参する。秀頼は

However, the mother and child should reform their hearts and apologize for their mistakes, and therefore the mother should be sent to remain somewhere between駿府 (Sunpu) and Edo. Masanori, having received the favor of the Kantō for many years, harbors no duplicitous thoughts, and his wife and children are also in the Kantō. If you do not allow them to submit, then Masanori will stand against the forces of the realm, charge forward, and swiftly defeat your forces. Even if you come to regret this when that time arrives, it will be of no avail. Even if it is not yet time for your family fortune to come to an end, it depends on your decision."
Thus it was written. On the same sixteenth day, Masanori's messenger again rushed to the Ōgosho's camp at Okazaki and presented a letter.
