光政いかりて奉行にも告すしてほしゐまゝに
城下に人をとらふる／條粮（頗）藉の至り也といひけれは
正頼聞て正頼か 郎等を正頼か追捕せんに何条
事かあるへきかゝる不思議なる事を承る物かなと
こたふ大御所此よしを聞召かのとらへられし侍の縄
ときて追却し追捕せし輩を禁獄せらるほと

光政は怒って奉行にも告げずに、勝手気ままに城下で人を捕らえるとは、極めて理不尽なことだと言った。正頼はこれを聞いて「正頼の郎党を正頼が追捕するのに何か問題があるだろうか。このような不思議なことを承るものか」と答えた。大御所はこのことをお聞きになり、かの捕らえられた侍の縄を解いて追い返し、追捕した者たちを禁獄された。程なく大坂の軍が起こったので、何のお沙汰もなく過ぎた。
元和元年五月、大坂の事が終わった後、同じ年の六月末、正頼の許に小堀新助【割書：後に遠江守】と中坊左近を御使として派遣し、「汝の家人が告訴するところによれば、汝の罪は軽くないけれども、汝の兄正則の功績を思し召すゆえに、何のお咎めもなかった。それなのにまた軽々しく罪を犯し、その上奉行であろう者に無礼なことを言うなど、その罪はすでに重なっている。しかしながら、なお別の配慮をもってその罪を宥めるところである」として、所領を没収されてしまった。【割書：これより宇陀の城は荒れ果てた】【割書：正頼には子息が二人あり、将軍家に召し出されるという】

Mitsumasa became angry and said that capturing people in the castle town at will without even informing the magistrate was extremely unreasonable. When Masayori heard this, he replied, "What problem could there be with Masayori pursuing and capturing Masayori's own retainers? How can one accept such a strange matter?" The Great Retired Lord heard of this and had the ropes removed from the captured retainer, sent him away, and imprisoned those who had pursued and captured him. Soon after, the Osaka campaign began, so there was no further judgment on the matter.
In the fifth month of Genna 1 (1615), after the Osaka affair ended, at the end of the sixth month of the same year, Kobori Shinsuke [marginal note: later Tōtōmi-no-kami] and Nakabō Sakon were sent as messengers to Masayori with the message: "According to what your retainers have reported, your crimes are not light, but because of the meritorious service of your elder brother Masanori, there was no punishment. Yet you have again committed crimes carelessly, and moreover spoke rudely to one who would be a magistrate - your crimes have already accumulated. However, through separate consideration, these crimes are being pardoned," and his domain was confiscated.
