was made to serve the Sasaki house, and the third son Otowa Uma-no-jō Hideyori was made to serve the Hosokawa house. When Gyōbu-taifu Hideyuki died, his son Gyōbu-taifu Hidetada succeeded him, but his uncle Saemon-taifu Takasato destroyed his nephew Hidetada and combined their territories. Takasato's son Shimotsuke-no-kami Sadahide succeeded his father, and his son Sahyōe-taifu Yoshihide was the father of Sangi Ujisato.
Initially, after Yoshihide inherited the headship of the house, his lord, the shugo of Ōmi Province, Sasaki Sakyō-taifu Yoshikata, lay priest Jōtei, and his son were destroyed by Lord Oda. Yoshihide fortified himself in his castle at Nakano in Hino, waiting for the attackers, intending to fight to the death. At this time, Kanbe Kurōdo-taifu, a resident of Ise Province, had married Yoshihide's sister, and grieving that this ancient house would perish, he petitioned Lord Oda and went to Hino Castle,
where he gave various admonishments and persuaded Yoshihide to surrender and join Nobunaga's camp. At this time, Ujisato was only thirteen years old and was called Tsuruchiyomaru, and he accompanied his father. When Lord Oda saw him, he declared, "This son is no ordinary person," and intending to marry him to Nobunaga's daughter, kept him at Gifu Castle and named him Chūzaburō (Lord Oda was Danjō-chū at the time, and took the character "chū" to create this name). The following year, in the eighth month of Eiroku 12, when Nobunaga launched an attack on Ōkōchi Castle in Ise Province, Chūzaburō, now fourteen years old, charged out alone into the midst of a large enemy force, took a fine head, and returned. Nobunaga was greatly amazed, and that same winter gave him a princess in marriage and sent him back to Hino Castle.
On the second day of the sixth month of Tenshō 10, when the Oda father and son died in the capital, Sahyōe-taifu Yoshihide was guarding Azuchi Castle and
