けん一とはけんやくを第一にする勘定也
倹（けん）一よりけん九を九いろの倹 約（やく）のしかた
を云いつ迄も同し事にてちとうるさけれ共

算術としては見事であるとはいえ、
知恵のない事である。
今これを量り知る
には船も籠も要ら
ない事である。まず象の
中へ入る人を何人
と定め、その人を一人ずつ
秤にかけ、さて象の
頭の張り抜き、
体のねずみ色
木綿何反と積
もりて秤にかけ、
その代銀を積もりて
山王祭りの割合
を考え麹町には
住まわないようにすべし。

これは盗賊をする時の
事である。盗賊をするには
高い木に心をつけて

休一 高い身 安楽になりては第一安い身をしないがよし。人にばかにされないように高慢にすべし。
通に馬鹿に この時こそぐっと通になりて、算用づくめかけては何も知らないような顔にて馬鹿をつくす機転なり。
中三かからない 常に女郎買いを専らとして中三をかからず勝手に楽しむべし。
灸治若気 この時身の養生を忘れず折々灸を据えて気を若く保ちて楽しむべし。
休後覚悟 さてかくの如く楽になりたりとも、また身代を持ち崩さず驕りに長ぜぬように覚悟すべしとなり。
住欲嗅楽 住所をきれいにして家内にも楽をさせよとなり。
休日境町 暇な日は境町へ行き芝居をもたえず見るべし。境町とはすべて芝居を指す。
京橋中橋 住む場所も江戸の真ん中、京橋中橋の辺りがよし。日本橋と言わないは口伝なり。
休心が一心 初めよく苦をするものは後に心を安めんとの一心なり。これ八算繰りなり。
『倹一の割り声の事』
倹一とは倹約を第一にする勘定なり。
倹一より倹九を九色の倹約の仕方
を言う。いつまでも同じ事にて少々うるさけれども

○Ninth Level: Nine means suffering. Pleasure is the seed of suffering, suffering is the seed of pleasure, so in this section one enjoys pleasure while not forgetting suffering.
Rest One - High Status: When in comfort, it's best not to act cheaply. Maintain dignity so people don't look down on you.
Appearing Foolish to Experts: At such times, become thoroughly sophisticated, but when it comes to calculations, act as if you know nothing - this is clever pretense.
No Middle-Class Expenses: Make visiting courtesans your specialty and enjoy yourself freely without middle-class expenditures.
Moxibustion for Youthful Spirit: Don't forget health maintenance at this time; occasionally apply moxibustion and keep your spirit young while enjoying life.
Post-Rest Resolution: Even when enjoying such comfort, resolve not to squander your fortune or become arrogant.
Residential Desire for Comfort: Keep your residence clean and let your household also enjoy comfort.
Rest Day Theater District: On free days, go to the theater district and watch plays constantly. "Theater district" refers to all theaters.
Kyobashi-Nakabashi: For residence too, the center of Edo, around Kyobashi and Nakabashi is good. Not mentioning Nihonbashi is an oral tradition.
Restful Heart as Single Focus: Those who first endure hardship well have the single-minded goal of later putting their hearts at ease. This is the eight-calculation method.
