一他国石切稼罷出候者共儀五人組
切ニ吟味仕人別請人相立罷出申候
尤御年貢御役義等無滞様ニ
可仕候御事
一従御公儀様被 仰付候御法度之
儀ハ不及申上常々被 仰付候通り
御仕置於先々ニ相背申間敷候
此段相守候様ニ被仰付奉得其意候御事
一此者共義於先々ニ定宿脇書ニ相記候
通り御座候暮ニ至り不罷帰義

現代語訳
差し上げ申す一札の事
一、他国石切稼ぎに出かける者たちの件について、五人組で厳重に吟味し、人別帳で身元確認をして請人を立てて出かけます。もちろん年貢や役義などに滞りがないよう務めます。
一、御公儀様から仰せ付けられる法度の件については申し上げるまでもなく、常々仰せ付けられている通り、御仕置きを出先において背くことは決していたしません。この段をお守りするよう仰せ付けられ、その意を得ております。
一、この者たちの件について、出先においては定宿を脇書に記載した通りでございます。年の暮れに至っても帰らない場合は、請人並びに五人組まで御注進いたします。もちろん滞りなく帰った場合も早速村役人方へ相届け、その上で御支配様まで御届けいたします。
付け加えて、少々の持ち高であっても田地を荒らさないよう、他へ預けます。手作り分も粗相にならないよう妻子どもに申し付けて出かけるようにいたします。

A Pledge Document Submitted
Item 1: Regarding those who go to other provinces to work as stone cutters, the five-person group will conduct strict examination, verify their identities in the population register, establish guarantors, and send them out. Naturally, they will ensure that annual taxes and official duties are fulfilled without delay.
Item 2: Regarding the prohibitions issued by the Shogunate, it goes without saying that as always commanded, they will never violate the official punishments at their destinations. We have been ordered to observe this provision and understand its meaning.
Item 3: Regarding these individuals, at their destinations they will stay at designated lodgings as recorded in the side notes. If they do not return by year's end, the guarantors and the five-person group will report this matter. Of course, even when they return without incident, we will promptly notify the village officials and then report to the supervising authorities.
Additionally, even if their landholdings are small, they will entrust their fields to others to prevent them from becoming neglected. They will also instruct their wives and children to ensure that the portions they cultivate themselves are not handled carelessly before departing.
