術意（コヽロヱゴト）のあるやと問ふに。さしてその試効（タメシ）の有
しといふにもあらねと。故郷の古老の話（モノガタ）りに
元旦の雑羹（ザフニ）に入る物。おほよそそれ〳〵のいわれ
こそあれ。《割書：所謂菜服｜芋魁の品》素君（トウフ）はめてたきといふ縁故（イハレ）
もあらねとも。豆乳（トウフ）と同しうして烹たる物の
咽につまるといふ事なし。よて餈を煮るの料（グ）に
加（クワ）へるのならひとせりとそ。此言葉をおもひ出て
支吾（マニアハセ）るなりとそ。《割書：右泉州池田庄｜万町邑なり》これそすなはち
めてたきといへる食品ならんや。百品著述あり
て后（ノチ）。今又続篇の数品こと〳〵嗜好家（スキシヤ）の
至宝を得ぬるかとも。宿酔の翌午に食して
かの雲生か夢の国の輦のむかひ酒の伴（トモ）そとも。
現代語訳
術を知っているのか』と問うと、『特にその試しをしたことがあるというわけでもないが、故郷の古老の話に、元旦の雑煮に入れる物には、だいたいそれぞれの謂れがあるものだ。（いわゆる菜っ葉や里芋の類の品々）豆腐はめでたいという特別な謂れがあるわけでもないが、豆腐と同じように煮た物で喉に詰まるということはない。よって餅を煮る材料に加えるのが習わしとしているのだ』とのことであった。この言葉を思い出して間に合わせたのだ」ということだった。（右は泉州池田庄の万町村のことである）これこそまさにめでたいと言える食品なのだろうか。百品の著述があった後、今また続編の数品を、もれなく愛好家の至宝を得ることができるだろうか。宿酔の翌日の昼に食して、あの雲生が夢の国の車での向かい酒の友ともなろう。
