現代語訳

十九日丙辰、日の出に辛酉西風帯南風に転じたが風向きが定まらず、単庚を一更用いた。日中に壬子癸風に転じ、単酉針を日入まで用いた。子癸に転じ、また丑癸に転じて単戌を三更半用いた。夜は月が見え明るかった。

二十日丁巳、日の出に艮寅東北順風に転じ、日中に甲卯に転じて辛戌を四更用いた。日入に乙辰風となり大雨が降った。船は合計二十六更半航行した。この日海水は緑色に見えた。夜に溝を過ぎて海神を祭り、巽巳風に転じて辛酉を三更半用い明るくなるまで続けた。

二十一日戊午、日の出は大霧で正南風、西南に転じまた西北風に転じたが風向きが定まらず、船の進行は遅く更を上げることができなかった。縋水四十八托、鳥が来て檣に集まった。子癸風に転じ十三漏まで続き、東北大順風に転じて庚申を二更用い明るくなるまで続けた。

二十二日巳未、日の出は東北風で晴れたが大変寒く、庚酉申を四更半用いた。日入に燕二羽が来て檣上に集まり、十一漏まで続いた後乙卯風に転じた。縋水四十托、庚酉を一更用いた。夜は雨で大霧であった。

二十三日庚申、日の出は霧と大雨で無風、縋水三十二托であった。日晡に壬亥風が起こり、日入に壬子風に転じた。夜は雨で大寒、庚酉を二更用いた。未明に山が見え、距離は一更ほど遠くであった。

二十四日辛酉、日の出に単申を一更用い、魚山及び鳳尾山に至った。

19th day, Bing-Chen, at sunrise turned to Xin-You west wind with south wind, but the wind direction was unstable, used single Geng for one watch. At midday turned to Ren-Zi-Gui wind, used single You compass bearing until sunset. Turned to Zi-Gui, then turned to Chou-Gui, used single Xu for three and a half watches. The night was bright with moonlight.

20th day, Ding-Si, at sunrise turned to Gen-Yin northeast favorable wind, at midday turned to Jia-Mao, used Xin-Xu for four watches. At sunset turned to Yi-Chen wind with heavy rain. The ship traveled a total of twenty-six and a half watches. This day the seawater appeared green in color. At night passed through a channel and offered sacrifices to the sea god, turned to Xun-Si wind, used Xin-You for three and a half watches until dawn.

21st day, Wu-Wu, at sunrise heavy fog with due south wind, turned to southwest then turned to northwest wind, but wind direction was unstable. The ship's progress was slow and could not advance by watches. Sounded at forty-eight fathoms, birds came and gathered on the mast. Turned to Zi-Gui wind until the thirteenth hour, then turned to northeast strong favorable wind, used Geng-Shen for two watches until dawn.

22nd day, Ji-Wei, at sunrise northeast wind, clear but very cold, used Geng-You-Shen for four and a half watches. At sunset two swallows came and gathered on the mast, continuing until the eleventh hour, then turned to Yi-Mao wind. Sounded at forty fathoms, used Geng-You for one watch. Night brought rain and heavy fog.

23rd day, Geng-Shen, at sunrise fog and heavy rain with no wind, sounded at thirty-two fathoms. At late afternoon Ren-Hai wind arose, at sunset turned to Ren-Zi wind. Night brought rain and severe cold, used Geng-You for two watches. Before dawn saw mountains at a distance of about one watch away.

24th day, Xin-You, at sunrise used single Shen for one watch, reaching Fish Mountain and Phoenix Tail Mountain.
